Shoto's pov
I ran forward to Tamaki when I was sure that the villian who had been referred to as Dabi was a safe distance away from her.
"Tamaki?" I shook her shoulders gently but she didn't respond. I pulled strands of hair back from her face. Her eyes were closed and her nose bleeding, leaving a trail down over her lips and right to her chin. I pressed my fingers against her wrist. I could feel a pulse. I lifted her up in my arms, holding her body close. The smell of burnt flesh hit my nose and I gagged, trying not to throw up my dinner. The villians had gotten away and had taken Bakugou with them. I looked back down at Tamaki. She needed a doctor. I could see the burns that wrapped around her neck in the shape of a hand. The positioning meant that he had used his left hand. The sight of it gave birth to a knot in my stomach but I had no time to think about that. I could hear the sirens of an ambulance. Someone must have called for help incase the villians hurt anyone. I got to my feet.
"I'm going to take Tamaki to get help" I didn't wait for any response. Every second I wasted not getting her help put her a second closer to death. I ran through the trees, the trees stripped of almost all life as the flames slowly died with their ammunition used up. I reached the main building where doctors were running around, checking on everyone's injuries. The worst one seemed to be a guy from 1B who was getting several bullet wounds treated, groaning and yelling loudly everytime they treated one. I found Mr Aizawa who was talking to a doctor. He had probably been rounding up students who needed to have their injuries treated.
"Mr Aizawa" I called, breathing heavily. He turned around, eyes falling on Tamaki almost immediately.
"What happened?" he asked, reaching out and pulling strands of hair back to examine her face. He was alsi gripping one wrist like it was a lifeline.
"It was one of the villians. I didn't see what exactly happened but he had a fire quirk and was using it on her" his gaze grew desperate. He turned to the doctor.
"Bring her over here so I can examine the extent of the damage" she demanded. I lowered Tamaki onto one of the stretchers they had set up on the ground. Tamaki winced when her back came in contact with the fabric but didn't wake. The doctor was checking over her, muttering things to herself.
"We'll need to bring her to the hospital. She has a broken arm, heavy bruising on her ankle, a broken nose and burns along her back and around her neck" she listed off, gesturing to one of the other medical staff.
"Will she live?" Mr Aizawa demanded although his worry was evident in both his face and voice.
"Its the burns I'm most worried about. If they're left untreated for too long they could get infected and could cause dehydration, shock or even death. We want to avoid that as much as possible. The other staff began moving the stretcher into one of the ambulances. Mr Aizawa turned to me.
"Go with her. I need to stay here to check on the other students. I'll give you my number but try and message me through her phone if it isn't locked and tell me how she's doing" he wrote his number onto a small sheet of paper from his pocket and handed it to me. I nodded. Then once I was sure that he had nothing else to say to me, got in the ambulance and sat down. I linked my hand in with Tamaki's good arm which hung off the stretcher while the staff worked on keeping her alive and from further harm on the trip. I didn't pay much attention to the movement of the vehicle, just focusing on Tamaki. The back doors to the ambulance swung open when we arrived. I had to let go of Tamaki's hand when they began wheeling the stretcher into the hospital. I tailed slightly, stopping in the waiting room while they went through the doors to the back. I shoved my hand into my pocket, feeling the paper inside and was reminded that I didn't see if Tamaki had her phone on her. With a sigh, I pulled out my own phone, typing in Mr Aizawa's number and sending him a message with an update on what I could tell from where I stood. I looked around, a few vacant seats scattered around the room. I made my way over to one and sat down, waiting for any news on her condition.
