Tamaki's pov
Wind hit my face as I pulled my goggles down over my eyes. My normal little devices wouldn't be very preductive in the practical test since they come off so easily when I'm moving. I was tapped on the shoulder and turned to see one of the assessors.
"Sorry but could you remove those. No hero apperatice is permitted during examinations" he explained. I handed over the note that dad gave me. He reads over it.
"Oh well if that's the case then keep them on but that better be all they do" he explains. I nod although I can hear objection from a couple other students. I walk over to the group I'd been assigned to, waiting for our turn. I lean back and watch the current group which almost had an exact tie between two guys. I don't pay too much attention to them since its now time for me to step up. I bend down onto the ground, pressing down on my back legs. Speed was important for someone with a quirk like mine. Dad was similar. When your quirk relied heavily on your physical abilities themselves, it was important to have your body up to speed with your quirl. Dad taught me that. The race started and I pushed myself forward, running through the dirt to reach the finish line. One girl propelled herself forward with her quirk.
'If that' s how you want to play then I'll use my own quirk' I kept her in my sight and activated my quirk, letting her fall to the ground and passing her as she yelled out swears. I stumbled slightly, extending my hands so I could push myself forward. They made contact with the ground and I felt them scrape against the ground, ripping my bandages and leaving them stinging. I skid backwards, hair flying into my face and blocking my face as I heard people coughing. A whistle blew as I pulled hair out of my face to look around. I had crossed the line and had beaten one other person by a hair. I gulped in air, feeling out of breath from the run. I rubbed one hand on my hoodie and walked towards where the water was being served. I picked up a cup and guzzle it, letting the liquid cool my throat. I looked over to see that one guy from before look at me for a second with what I assume was supposed to be a glare before he turned away from me.
'Great. People already hate me and I don't even know if I'm in the school yet' I groan, running a hand through my hair which catches on a tangle. I pull my hand down to sort it before being pulled close to someone by a strong arm.
"That was impressive what you did there. It was you that stopped that girl's quirk right?" he asks, practically yelling in my ear.
"Not to be rude but could you let go of me" I ask him, leaning my head away. He removes his arm and I turn my gaze down to the ground.
"My quirk isn't that cool" I mumble, lifting up my goggles.
"Isn't it like Eraserhead's?" he asks. I lifted my head up and dropped some eyedrops into my eyes to ease the irritation. I put the drops back in my bag and pulled my goggles back down. Until I was alone, I'd keep these on. I'd prefer that very few people are aware of my eyes. I took another cup of water, dropping a flavoured vitamin tablet in and began drinking that slowly. This should fill up my stomach for sure and hopefully give me enough of a boost to make it till the end of the day when I can go home. I looked over at the red and white haired guy again. He was completly ignoring everyone, eyes closed and head tilted down. I sighed. No point in getting involved with this. I'd rather just go home. I felt an oncoming headache and placed one hand up to my head, taking another sip of my drink. Must be the dehydration getting to me. I didn't really drink anything all morning. Not like I choose to. I was just to worked up about the exams. I sigh, pushing myself off the table and throwing the cup into the bin that sat there. Everyone else had finished up and it was time to go inside for the other exam. I shove my hands in my pockets. I didn't need people questioning me about them. I walked into the school, bag slung over my shoulder now. Let's just hope this goes well.
