Shoto's pov

The bell for lunch rang, filling our class with its noise.
"Alright little listeners. Go enjoy your lunch" Mr Yamada screamed to the roof. Other students began leaving the class while Mr Yamada walked up to Aizawa and handed her the device he'd been wearing around his neck during the class.
"There you go. I was sure to make sure it saved" he smiled wide.
"Thanks. I'll enjoy having my ears blasted to pieces tonight" she sighs, putting the object away in her bag. Mr Yamada chuckled but not much else, turning around and heading out of the classroom. I put away my notebooks, about to ask if Aizawa wanted to join me for lunch when someone burst into the room. Those who were still in the class turned to look at who had entered. I recognised the purple hair that was choosing to defy gravity and the dark circles under purple eyes as Aizawa's brother. He stormed over to her, holding two small rectangles in his hand.
"So why wasn't I told about these this morning?" he demanded, one hand on his hip and the other waving the pieces of paper in her face. She pushed his hand away.
"Because it wasn't my place to tell you. Tamaki bought them. Not me" she kept her voice steady, closing the top of her bag. Those that were still left in the class were still not leaving. I couldn't understand why they were staying. They weren't wanting to ask one of them to eat lunch. I stayed at my table, waiting for Aizawa to finish her conversation.
"Yeah well who the hell am I supposed to bring? You have it easy" Aizawa stands up straight, leaving her back unattended at her feet.
"What's that supposed to mean?" her voice was going from steady to more harsh in tone. Shinso looked over at me for a few seconds, eyes traveling up and down like he was assessing me for something. I lifted my hand up to cover the scar on my face, hoping that wasn't what he had decided to look at.
"You know. Cause you have a boyfriend" he crossed his arms, turning back to his sister. Aizawa's cheeks were turning red.
"I don't have a boyfriend" she objected, body stiff as she stared up at him. He opened his mouth to say something else when Kaminari pulled his attention away from Aizawa. I walked up to her. She had her arms crossed, chewing her bottom lip as she stared what I can assume is daggers into her brother's back. He seemed to guess this and put up a middle finger to her with his back still turned. She returned his action with the same motion. I stood still for a moment but when she still didn't notice me, I cleared my throat to get her attention. She jumped, swinging her head around to face me while her hair swung into her face. She sputtered pulling strands of dirty, tangled hair out of her mouth and eyes while her fingers caught in loops that held strands together.
"Can I help you?" she asks, tugging her hands out of her hair and shaking them when single strands of black clung to them.
"Eat lunch with me?" I ask. She looks up at me with crinkles between her eyebrows, slightly narrowed eyes and a strange shape on her mouth.
"Excuse me?" I opened my mouth to repeat myself when she shook her hands.
"No. No. I heard you. I'm not going to do something with you just because you tell me to" she objects, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"I was asking" I state. Wasn't that how you asked someone. She blinked, the crinkles somewhat fading as her face formed into a more nuteral position.
"Oh. Sorry. My bad" she mumbled, wrapping her fingers around her bag strap.
"Sure. I'll join you" she agrees, swing her bag over her shoulder. I walk alongside her out of class, not quite catching what Shinso says to her as we walk by. Its quiet between the two of us until we reach the hall.
"Sorry for getting so defensive. Guys like you don't really want to be seen hanging out with girls like me" she explained, gripping onto the strap of her bag with one hand.
"What do you mean?" I tilted my head, unsure what she meant.
"Well you're popular with girls and guys, handsome, you have a muscular body. People like that don't normally want to be seen with rubbish like me" she gestures to herself. I look her over. Her clothes seemed bigger on her than she probably should wear, maybe a size above what she actually was. Although she did wear a skirt like the other girls in her class, she wore leggings underneath her socks and black ankle boots. Her hair was tangled like it hadn't been brushed in a few days and possibly not washed either and the circles under her eyes seemed more promanant than before but she didn't look awful. She still had that sharpness to her jaw and the more rounded shape to her eyes.
"You don't look horrible. You have a......" I couldn't quite place the word I was looking for.
"A?" she looked up at me, wanting to know what I meant.
"Its used to describe a cat or kitten" I try to explain. She thinks for a minute.
"You mean cute?"
"Yes that's it" I agree. She snorts.
"Wow I didn't know you had a sense of humor Candy cane" she laughed, wrapping her arms around her stomach.
"I wasn't joking" I look at her with a straight face. I couldn't understand why she thought I was joking. She looked away from me, her thumb finding its way up between her lips. A few seconds after, she shoved one hand in a small pocket of her bag and pulled out one of those slips of paper like the ones Shinso had been holding. She offered me one.
"Do you wanna maybe go to the movies with me?" she asked, not facing me. I stare at the ticket. A movie. Together. Just the two of us?
"Just us?"
"No. My brother's are coming. I have no idea who Hitoshi's bringing but Tamaki's bringing his boyfriend so they'll be affectionate with each other the entire time. If that puts you off then its fine" she explains, one hand in the pocket of her skirt. I looked back at the ticket. I gripped it with two fingers and slipped it out of her hands.
"Sure. What movie is it?" I ask, looking down at the ticket.
"That new horror movie that's coming out on Friday" I blink.
"I didn't think you liked horror" I looked down at her, breaking contact with the ticket.
"I don't but Hitoshi really likes horror and Mirio enjoys the jump scares. It works Tamaki and I, what with our anxiety but Tamaki does sometimes like the ones with the body horror. Says it gives him ideas on new ways to use his quirk. I just feel like supporting my brothers in what they like to do" she explained, brushing at her skirt while we walked. I turned back to the ticket which had the movie name, time & date and the screen it would be showing on.
"I'll be there. Where will everyone be meeting?" Aizawa stopped walking.
"That's right. You don't have any of our phone numbers" her thumb was back in her mouth again before she was pulling a touch screen phone with some scratches across the screen from her bag and typing in a password.
"I'll give you my number and you can message me. That way I can tell you where we'll be meeting once its decided" I hand her my phone once its unlocked and she types in her number with 'Tamaki Aizawa' put in as the contact name.
"Just text me whenever" she waved her hand, taking steps and getting ahead of me. I stared down at my phone for a moment, looking at the letters that formed Aizawa's name in my contact. Realising that she was leaving me behind and that I probably looked dumb standing here in the hallway while looking at my phone, I shoved it back in my pocket and started walking to catch up with her. I could deal with the message and everything later.

I love writing Todoroki. Its fun to come up with ways to describe facial expressions and stuff through the eyes of a character that isn't quite sure what some mean.
