IT'S OVER

While Trinity was waiting for JJ, she pulled the roof down on her car. This would be the first time she drives with it down.

Finally, JJ was headed back to the car after doing the final delivery. He has the widest smile on his face and has quite genuinely never looked so happy. He quickly jumps over the door and sits in.

"Hundred bucks baby!" He cheers waving it in her face.

She giggles, "Yeah, careful some kids don't run down and rob you," Trinity pushes his hand down and starts the car.

"Very funny,"

"To the docks we go," Trinity says. JJ holds his arms high in the wind.

JJ got out as soon as Trinity put the car in park and started sprinting down the long wooden dock to where Pope was sat.

"Pope!" He calls out. "Yo dude! You are not gonna believe want happened to me, man!"

Trinity watches as he heads down and makes her way over, without running.

A few moments pass and she notices that the two aren't saying anything by the time she gets there. JJ looks extremely concerned and angry and Pope is just quiet and not showing any emotion.

"Is everything okay?" She asks, sitting on the wooden fence.

"Who did it Pope?" JJ asks again.

"Did what?" Trinity asks.

JJ looks to Pope waiting for him to take his cap off to show the girl. He sighs as he takes it, turning around to face her.

"Oh my God. Pope? What happened?" She stands up and looks closely at his gashes.

"That's what I've been trying to ask," JJ adds.

Pope puts his cap back on and looks down, "Rafe and Topper jumped me."

JJ clenches his jaw and looks at Trinity. She immediately feels very, very guilty as her heart sinks to her stomach.

"Pope I'm so sorry," She says, and hugging him tightly.

"It's not your fault. They said no Pogues on their side of the Island."

JJ had already been thinking of ways to get back, "What are you gonna do?"

§

The trio split up.

Trinity felt so guilty and knew she had to do her part so she gave the boys an excuse to leave them.

After driving to the other side of the island she made it to Rafe's house, where he was sat with Kelce smoking joints, Topper was just watching.

Trinity knocked on the door of the sitting room gaining all of their attentions.

"Yo Trin, you want some?" Kelce points down to the substance lined up on the table.

His offer earns him a hard nudge from Rafe, "Are you crazy? I don't want her doing that stuff—"

"It's her choice—"

"I'm not going to let her," Rafe says firmly, ending the discussion.

"Okay, I see you're busy."

Rafe looks to Trinity while handing Kelce the joint, "Oh you wanted to talk to me?"

She nods, "Why else would I be here?"

Rafe wipes the tip of his nose and gets up to talk to her, "What's wrong?" He asks, leading her out to the hallway.

She takes a deep breath, "I can't be your girlfriend anymore."

Rafe is taken aback, "I'm sorry?"

"We need to break up."

"What - no we don't?" Rafe's heart starts to beat quicker.

"Yes, Rafe, we really do. I can't be in a relationship with someone like you—"

"S-someone like me?" He stammers, getting angry by her words. "What eight months and all of a sudden now I'm some monster?"

"Don't act like I haven't been understanding and—,"

"You were!" He yells, "That's why I'm confused! Nothings happened we had a good time at the party and then - it's about the necklace, isn't it?"

"No this has nothing to do with that stupid necklace!" She shouts at him, for probably the first time ever.

"Then tell me what the fuck went on in your tiny little brain!" He grabs her by her biceps, "Tell me please!"

"Rafe don't touch me."

He let go of her, "What am I suddenly abusive or something?"

"Yes!"

"Yes?!" He repeats, "What the fuck?!"

"Rafe you attacked my friend with a golf club."

He nods, "Oh, so he's your friend, let me guess so are the rest of those little Pogues."

"What's it to you? I'm not your girlfriend anymore." She says, attempting to leave.

But Rafe grabs onto her shoulders and spins her back, "You can't just break up with me!"

"Yes I can and I did."

"Fine." He steps back, "If you wanna break up so badly then do it, just remember no one will love you as much as I do."

"You've lost your mind."

Rafe leans back against the wall and shuts his eyes, "I can't believe you're doing this right now,"

"I'm sorry."

He laughs, "Yeah, but you're not,"

"Put yourself in my shoes, if I went around beating Sarah with a golf club when she was just trying to do her job."

Rafe completely disregards what she says as his eyes start to tear, "Trinity no, I can't even listen to what you're saying."

"Don't cry—"

"Don't cry? The one girl I've ever loved is breaking up with me and doesn't even seem phased." He shakes his head, stuffing his hands in his pockets as a tear rolls down his cheeks.

Unexpectedly for Rafe, Trinity just bursts out crying, "Please don't make me look like the bad person,"

"I'm not,"

"Yes, you are! Saying I'm not phased, of course, I'm fucking phased! I don't want to break up with you but I have to!" She hides her face in her hands as she sobs. "I've tried so hard."

Rafe doesn't say anything.

"I had a feeling this wouldn't last—"

Rafe immediately cuts her off, "Fuck you. You can't say that you can't just leave me,"

"My decisions been made," Trinity says firmly.

Rafe storms off, slamming the door behind him. She stood there a second almost regretting her decision but she knew she did the right thing. And with that, she walked out of the house and back into her car where she drove silently to the Cut.

Any normal person could tell she had been crying, her eyes were extremely red and her face and eyelashes still had the glossy look. After sitting in her parked car for a minute she started to cry again but quickly stopped herself and went inside.
