TRUTH HURTS

The loud horn was blaring which was the first sound Trinity heard once she finally woke up. She was in a small room and the bed was surprisingly comfy. On the small table was a tray of food but Trinity's first move was looking out the window where she found herself staring at nothing but the sea.

"What the fuck?" She whispered to herself, running to the door but not to her surprise it was locked shut.

She looked down at the tracksuit she was wearing and disappointed to see none of her belongings in any of her pockets then decided go get back on track went to find something that she could use to pick the lock.

She took the knife from the tray of food and tried to use it as a tool but there was no luck. "Fuck!"

Trinity put her ear close to the door to listen out for anything but the only thing she could hear was footsteps coming her way.

As the handle jiggles she turns away not wanting to see who was on the other side of the door.

"Hi, Trinity," Rafe says quietly.

Her face scrunches up and she felt like crying, "Why am I on this boat, Rafe?" She asks without turning to look at him, taking her bottom lip between her lip as she started at the window in anger.

"We couldn't leave you alone,"

"I want to go home." She turned to look at Rafe.

He walked towards her but she quickly backed up,
His eyes narrowed watching her actions, "You really think I'm that bad?"

"Rafe, you kidnapped me!"

Rafe walked closer to her, "Trinity, I'm not kidnapping you, I'd never do anything to hurt you and—" He stops talking once he had realised Trinity was backing away from him as much as she could. "You are scared." He whispers in realisation, stepping back.

"Of course I'm scared Rafe, I don't know what's going on—"

"I'll tell you, please just calm down, I'll tell you everything—"

"Why am I here Rafe?" She raises her voice at him and plops down onto the bed.

"Because you and Sarah wanted to be heroes by coming to the house and trying to do whatever it is you wanted to do. Only Sarah was meant to come with us but we couldn't leave you alone because you were unconscious, I knew you wouldn't be happy with it but don't you get it I did it to keep you safe - everything I've done is to keep you safe!"

But she shakes her head at him, "No Rafe. You are the reason that everything went to shit."

Rafe didn't say anything because he knew he was guilty and he just wanted Trinity to feel better but he knew that there was nothing he could do.

For the first time in a while can't be strong for much longer. She holds her head in her hands and begins to cry.

"Look, I'm sorry - I am sorry...and I mean it." He says watching the girl in front of him.

She stands up and quickly recollects herself, wiping her face and catching her breath. "I want to call JJ,"

Rafe's jaw clenched as he looks to the floor, "I'll give you my phone when we get to port," He mutters, and it looked like it took everything in him to say that to the girl.

She exhaled slowly, confused with her face scrunching how slightly at what he said.

Rafe brings his face back up to look at her, "Trinity, please can we just talk about us?"
