SECRETS

Kiara told Trinity that she would text her if anything happens so Trinity and Tyler headed back to their Dad's for a few hours. Trinity told Matt how she ended up with her brother and apologised for everything but at the back of her mind she couldn't stop thinking about Rafe's text and whether or not she should reply.

Matt's phone starts to ring, "Heyward, how are you?" Matt left the room and left his kids alone.

"What are you thinking so hard about?" Tyler asks her, picking her empty plate and taking it around to the kitchen.

"If John B is gonna get executed," Trinity didn't tell her brother about the text she had received.

"This is the eighteenth century Tee, they're not gonna behead him in the middle of the city," He says walking back into the room and crashing down onto the couch,

"You heard what they said!"

"I heard what they said but that's not how execution works nowadays," Tyler flicks through the channels on the TV and finally comes to one that he wants to watch.

Trinity looks down and sighs picking up the phone, "Doesn't make it any less serious," She opens Rafe's texts and decides to reply.

thank u, rafe

A few minutes later and he replies.

are you busy ??

why what do u need ?

to see you...if you can

Trinity looks up for a second and thinks before going back to reply,

yeah i can, where ?

im at home and no ones here

i need to get my car and then ill be there

Trinity sees the little delivered sign change to read and then she locks her phone, "Tyler, can you take me to the old boat docks, you know the one with all the storage units?"

"Why?"

Trinity opens her mouth to talk but is cut off when her father walks back in, "Kids, I need to shoot off so y'all do what you wanna do, it was nice seeing the two of you and I'll see you tomorrow, bye love you," He kissed the top of each of their heads.

"Love you,"

"Love you too, okay so why do you want to go there?" Tyler asks Trinity again, pausing the TV.

"My car's there," She says but he doesn't buy it and just furrows his eyebrows, "I swear on anything my car is there,"

Tyler exhales loudly and pats his pockets feeling to see if his keys are there, "Come on then,"

Finally, Trinity was on her way to Rafe's and couldn't help think that she might've made a big mistake but it was too late now. She was down his road and in any second will about to be pulling into his driveway.

Once she had stepped out of her car she saw Rafe open the door and stand there watching her. In his head, he was still amazed to see her after thinking she had been killed in the storm.

"Hi," She says in a small voice. Rafe cracked a smile but something was off, "Have you been crying?" Trinity asks.

"No," He lies, "I'm sorry for asking you to come here, I just needed someone to talk to,"

She nods, "What's wrong?"

Before Rafe began to speak he lead the way to the out house and they sat on a small white round table, there was a few dotted around but they sat at the one in the centre of the glass room.

"It's my Dad," Rafe closed his eyes and clenched my jaw, "After everything I've done he'd still pick Sarah,"

"Did he outright say that?"

He shook his head, "No he said he loved us all equally, but he's lying, Sarah's always been the favourite to my Dad!"

Trinity did actually understand where he was coming from, Charlotte adored Tyler despite how much of a little shit he was. Even when Tyler was being arrested and in jail back and forth including the times where he got warnings or just taken in, Tyler had been bailed out eight times, he had been in custody tens on tens of times she still preferred him over her.

"It's just so hard to hear when Sarah's not even here! She wants to go and testify against us and I've been doing everything for my Dad to prove I'm better and he still doesn't see it."

"I don't think there's much you can do, I know Charlotte prefers Tyler over me but there's nothing that I can do about it," Trinity just shrugs.

Rafe sighs, "It's just I know Sarah will rat me out as soon as she gets the chance, and you probably would too,"

Trinity shook her head, "No," She didn't know if what she was saying was entirely truthful but he needed the reassurance, "I wouldn't,"

Rafe licked his lips and stared into space, "You know I still love you right? And I'm sorry for everything...I mean it,"

Now she felt guilty. "Rafe you know I fucking hate what you did. And I think you're an awful person."

He looked over at a flower and just gently nodded.
