TWO BIRDS ONE STONE

Rafe and Barry were getting into a small boat as quick as they could so that Rafe could leave the Outer Banks and go to Wilmington in North Carolina. Ward went to see Rafe today and gave him a wad of money and instructions on how to safely leave without the cops finding him. Ward wasn't going to let Rafe go to jail and he promised him that. But Ward always lied so who knew what was going to really happen.

Rafe was at the head of the boat shoving a gun into his backpack and quickly looking for his phone, but Barry didn't think the gun was a good idea.

"Hey, I'm all for a man's right to defend himself, Rafe, but, uh...your ass is gonna get shot carrying that thing,"

Rafe replies to Barry while texting a message to Trinity, "They ain't gonna take me alive. I can tell you that right now."

He then switched his phone off, putting it back in his bag and put the bag away. "I've never been back here before," He says looking at the trees and the birds. Sceptical if Barry was taking him somewhere that Rafe ought to not be.

"You don't wanna be seen now, do you?"

"You know, everybody thinks natures all chill, right. That's such bullshit. Everything trying to kill everything else all the time, and...and...and every single thing has to kill to live. Killing is nature,"

Barry watched as Rafe said the most disturbing thing someone could say and knew that he needed help. Rafe had tried to get help from Ward but all Ward said was 'man up'.

Barry shook his head, "I don't particularly dislike you, Rafe, but I ain't gonna forget about how your father punked my ass. It's long been due y'all pay me some respect."

Rafe wasn't properly listening to what Barry was saying but he felt the weight of the boat change, so he quickly turned around and saw Barry jumping into the river, "Hey, where are you - hey!"

"He's got a gun!" Barry shrieked as he swam away. "He has a gun!"

And then Rafe realized he was fucked when the sheriff's department all came around and swarmed him on their boats. "Rafe, stay where you are!" Shoupe demanded, "Keep your hands where we can see them! Do not move or we will shoot!"

Shoupe's instructions went in one ear and out the other. Rafe jumped off the boat hiding behind it as the police start firing. He quickly takes his backpack and get's his gun ready.

"Hold your fire! Hold your fire!" Shoupe stops them all. "You hit? We don't wanna kill you, son, but you're making it damn hard! That pistol ain't gonna work now that it's been wet"

"Don't be a fool, get rid of it!" Another cop shouts. "Nowhere for you to go, Rafe,"

"Why don't you throw that gun on out where we can see it?" Shoupe requests. "Alright?"

Rafe has to think quickly to himself, "Alright! Alright!" And he chucks the gun somewhere away from him.

"Attaboy, now, just ease on out away from the boat. We'll come to you,"

Rafe pants and moves quickly, in the opposite direction from Shoupe and the cops,

"Stop! Damn it, Rafe!"

Rafe kept on running away but wasn't quick enough.

Trinity, Kiara and Sarah were sat together listening to the boys celebrating Ward going to jail after giving in the tape of Gavin telling the whole story.

JJ was trilling as he spoke, "Ladies and gentlemen, Ward Cameron, king of Kooks is going to jail!"

John B was hysterically laughing and Pope was cheering, "Goodbye!"

"Adios! He's out of here!"

"Woohoo!"

Kiara noticed Sarah's facial expression that she was trying to hide but was unsuccessful, "Do you regret it?" She asks him.

"No," Sarah says honestly, "He deserves all of it, and I know that."

Trinity nods, "He's your Dad, we get it,"

Sarah sighs and fiddles with her fingers, resting her head on Trinity's shoulder. Trinity too wasn't super glad about Ward now being sent to jail since Ward practically helped raise her.

"I'm sure it sucks to be in the middle," Kiara says sympathetically.

Both Sarah and Trinity's phones go off at the same time. Trinity's vibrates as she gets a text and Sarah's continue to ring while Topper is calling her. "I'll be back," She says walking off and placing the phone by her ear.

"What about you?" Kiara asks.

"Let's see." She picks up her phone and it was from some random number.

it's barry. rafe's been arrested

Trinity's mouth falls open but she also knows she can't be upset about it around the others, "Rafe's been arrested," She breathes.

Kiara grins, "That's great! Guys!" She goes over to boys, "Trin just got a text - Rafe's been arrested!"

The boys start cheering all over again and Sarah goes over to Trinity, "The warrants been signed for my Dad," She tells her.

Trinity licks her lips and shows Sarah the text, "Look's like it was two birds one stone,"

Sarah wanted to speak to her Dad so she convinced everyone to get in the Twinkie and drive to the detention centre, although that isn't where they ended up. John B followed the long line of cop cars that were all driving to the same place.

"Shit," Kie mutters and looks out the window.

"Oh my God," Sarah whines and turned to John B, "Can you please hurry? I need to be there for Wheezie."

"You think I wanna miss this?"

Trinity doesn't miss John B's snide remark and thinks it was very insensitive given the setting. Sarah gave John B a dirty look the looked at Trinity who just shook her head as a signal to not bother.

After pulling up Sarah quickly hopped out and slid the side door open to let everyone in the back out. Trinity grabbed Sarah's hand and the two lead the way to the stone wall but it was no good as Trinity couldn't see anything.

John B noticed how inconvenient this was for all of them, "Come on let's go over." John B and JJ gave everyone boosts over the wall.

"Trin come on," Sarah took her hand and they both held on to each other tightly as they ran to the docks

"Wheezie!" Trinity exclaimed,

The two girls hugged Wheezie tightly, she should not be seeing this right now. "Go inside and don't come out," Sarah tells her. Wheezie doesn't question it and just does as she's told.
