Chapter Thirteen

You're a Wolf!

"Are you kidding me?!" Johnny shouted after he had heard his best friend speaking to him about what he had done in the village. "I never joke around and anyway it was your idea after all was it not? To find someone who looked like Evelyn and cover it up by convincing Ranfore that it was Evelyn that I had killed?." Leon taunted earning a grunt from Johnny.

"It wasn't my idea to end Chloe's life. Sure she irritated us but that didn't mean that I wanted her dead. She looks nothing like Evelyn how do you propose that we cover up the murder with Chloe's body?" Johnny narrowed his eyes.

"Well how about you leave that to me. Anyway aren't you supposed to be getting rid of the father of our little guest?" Leon mocked. Johnny grunted at Leon's words, "I think burning his house down was enough, don't you think?" Leon rolled up his eyes, "Have you gone soft all of a sudden? Softness is not allowed in the pack. That shows weakness." he informed Johnny. Telling him that he would rather see Evelyn's father dead than anything else.

"Do you intend on hurting Evelyn's feelings? She has only got her father. Does she even want him dead? Have you considered that possibility Leon? If we ended his life despite the fact that he may deserve death, where would that leave Evelyn? She would be an orphan. I doubt she would forgive you if you did commit that crime." his words irritated Leon.

"Fine, well just give him a warning by scaring him. Oh and while you're doing that I'll be giving my master a present," he looked down at the dead body and smirked with no remorse. This is what he normally did anyway. As he dragged the body with him towards the pleasant glade where he normally left the bodies. He made sure to go and see Evelyn before his departure. He just wanted to see Evelyn even if it was only for a moment. He stepped up towards the door and knocked twice hearing her footsteps coming towards him. The door slowly opened to reveal a timid looking Evelyn.

From time to time he would find her quite reticent especially when it would come to how she was feeling about some things. "Leon," her voice came out quite like a mere whisper. "Are you okay?" he questioned her. "I'm quite weary but I am okay thanks, I guess," her eyes didn't meet his.

"Are you not going to let me in?" Damn it why do I feel like I need her consent? He thought while looking at her. What was wrong with her? For the first time in his life he felt concerned about her. "S-sure come in." she stuttered.

Entering the small hallway, he turned to look at her. "What's wrong?" he questioned while keeping his eyes on her. "I just feel lost, that's all," she admitted, something felt eerie in the air and he didn't know why she was feeling like a lost puppy. He had taken her into the forest, given her a place to stay and had made sure that she had someone to talk with.

"I just want-I want to get away from here." she started to weep.

"Why would you want to get away from here when you are safe?" he scoffed. "I-I'm not safe, he's going to kill me," she mumbled. "No-one here is going to kill you." Leon tried to reassure her however, it didn't prevent the tears from escaping from her eyes. "I-I'm not safe, he's going to kill me." Evelyn sobbed.

"Who is?" Leon questioned. "Tayler." she mumbled. "I can't hear you Evelyn." "Tayler is going to kill me." she forced herself to speak up. Leon dashed back and forward trying to comprehend why Tayler would want to kill Evelyn, and what was his motive? Did he even have one? Questions circulated around in his mind. "Why would he want to end your life?" he stopped pacing back and forward. Evelyn made eye contact with him for a few minutes. She had to admit the silence was something she couldn't endure another minute, so when he finally spoke up she was glad that it was over.
