Chapter Seventeen

Don't play wicked games

Hours had passed since Leon had left the room with Johnny. Evelyn walked out of the room walking down the stairs failing to notice that Johnny was walking in her direction.

"Hey Evelyn." He greeted her.

"Hello Johnny."

"Want to hang out for a bit?" he asked her.

"Is it not too dangerous for me to go outside?" Evelyn answered with a question of her own.

"Only if you go outside on your own and down to the village it is. But I would say you would be safe enough with me." Johnny smiled.

"Sure, I would love some fresh air." she responded.

"Then come with me," he stated as he made his way towards the front door.

When they left the cottage, Evelyn started to wonder where he was taking her since they were walking through various parts of the forest.

"Where are we going?" she asked after a while of walking behind him.

"Stay with me and you'll see. It won't be long now." he responded as he continued to lead her towards a smooth path.

After a while they reached a lake surrounded by trees and bushes. Evelyn stole a glance at Johnny and noticed how focused he was on the lake why he was focused on the lake she could not tell.

"Why have you brought me here?"

"Fancy a swim?" he answered her with a question of his own.

"I can't swim." she replied truthfully.

"Well there's no time like the present to start learning." he said removing his hoody and shirt and tossing it on the ground.

"That's just lazy to throw your clothes like that on the ground without a care in the world." she ended up telling him off.

"Who are you? My mother." he teased her playfully.

She watched as he made his way down towards one of the bushes only to disappear from her view for a few minutes, before she noticed him walking closer to the lake in nothing but his boxers.

As he entered the lake, she noticed how muscular he was, he wasn't as muscular as Leon, but he was still quite fit for his age.

"Come on in the water is great." he tried to encourage her.

"Is the water not dirty?"

"Would I be really going in to have a swim if it was dirty?"

"Possibly." Evelyn responded.

Rolling up his eyes he motioned for her to come in once more with his finger.

Hesitantly she walked towards the lake and dipped one of her feet into the water only to take it back out again. "It's so cold." she shuddered at the coldness of the water.

"Come on don't be such a big girl's blouse." Johnny stuck his tongue out at her.

"It's easy for you to say. You're not the one who can't swim."

"You won't drown."

"How do you know?" Evelyn retorted.

"I just know."

She watched as he stood up letting droplets of water fall from his masculine body and his dark hair. When he reached her she continued to make eye contact with him as he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer to him. She didn't notice that a rock was in front of her underneath her feet which caused her to slip.
