Chapter Fifteen
An unexpected souvenir
"He would never betray me. How do you know about Evelyn Monroe anyway?" Ranfore started to feel suspicious. How did this man know so much? How did he know about Evelyn Monroe? Or better yet how did he know Leon? Questions started to circulate in his mind.
"My name is Taylor, I guess Leon didn't tell you. He has a wolf pack of his own. The body you were given wasn't Evelyn's." Taylor pressed.
Ranfore stood silent for a while, now that he thought about it. The body of the girl didn't look like Liam Monroe's daughter but he hadn't made any assumptions towards Leon since he trusted him. However, he couldn't deny that it had been unlike Leon to delay a murder, and it had taken Leon some time to get rid of this woman that he had been instructed to kill. It had befuddled him since Leon was usually very quick at getting rid of people. But he hadn't been this time.
"I don't believe you. Leon would never betray me. He's got better sense than that." Ranfore snapped once again.
"He already has betrayed you. He's not planning to get rid of that girl any time soon. I've been watching him carefully." Taylor folded his arms across his chest.
"Why would he have a pack anyway? He's a wolf always on his own, doing his work on his own."
"Yes he partly does the work on his own, but he always has someone to help him to get rid of the dead bodies that he leaves lying around at times." Taylor's words were getting to Ranfore now.
"Are you telling me that Leon has been lying to me all this time? Where is this gang? How do I know that you're not just playing games?"
"I know where you can find Leon. Let's make a deal shall we?"
Ranfore wanted to rip this man's heart out right now. His blood was boiling with fury, his eyes were focusing on Taylor very carefully. If there was one wrong move that would be made here. He wouldn't hesitate to finish the job.
"Deals? I don't make deals. Why would I want to make one with a filthy creature like you?" his nostrils flared.
"You would make a deal because I have something that you don't."
"Oh yeah and what is that?" Ranfore retorted.
"The truth, two words that would make you livid and relieved in some shape or form. The betrayer."
Ranfore listened if Leon had betrayed him after all these years then he would regret it.
Taylor walked away happy that he had been able to tell Ranfore where he could find Leon in the woods, everything was going according to plan as he wandered towards the inn so he could tell Asher about what had happened that was until he was prevented from stepping into the entrance by Johnny who had clearly tracked him down looking livid.
"Where have you been?" Johnny had the nerve to question him.
How dare he question me? He isn't my guardian, my brother or my father and yet the filthy mutt is questioning me.
"I'm minding my own business. What are you doing here?"
"I've been looking for you I thought that would've been obvious by now." Johnny retorted.
"I don't need to be tracked down."
"Clearly you do when you've been missing for quite some time. Where have you been?" Johnny gritted his teeth.
"That's none of your concern." Taylor started to show his fists due to his irritation.
"It is when you're down here killing people shamelessly and risking the exposure of the pack."
