The sky was set ablaze with smoke so thick it blotted out the sun and burned with each gulp of air.

Rubble was everywhere, disfigured, distorted. As each clash of a fist occurred, the scenery grew more akin to a hellscape.

Y/N's ears rang; it made the situation that much worse when all he could hear was his ragged breaths and pounding heart.

His hands trembled as they were coated in blood. He worked desperately to cut the source while under immense pressure.

A hand tightly gripped his wrist, but the clasped digits began to rapidly fade in strength.

"You... you have to go!" Toshinori, All Might, hissed. Y/N couldn't hear it, but he read his lips just fine.

A colossal explosion rattled him from his shocked state, and the aftershock pumped adrenaline into his veins.

"I'm not going anywhere." Y/N stated harshly as he tore off his shirt to wrap around his dear friend's stomach. The sight of his leaking entrails didn't faze him one bit.

Securing everything in place with a solid knot, Y/N breathed shakily to calm himself.

Toshinori clutched at his stomach with grit teeth, but he felt a growing warmth bear down on him while doing so.

The realization hit him like a truck. Y/N wasn't scared, not from death or its approach. He was anxious and thirsty for revenge.

A faint glow began to encase his body. Purple waves caused little pebbles to vibrate and rise from the ground as his power began to increase rapidly.

"Y/N." Toshinori began to feel lightheaded. "It's not worth it..."

The younger man turned away to watch the rapid movement of a brawl. The echoing shouts of his mother pushed him forward while the distant cackling of a monster enraged him.

He wanted to kill All for One, watch the life fade from his horrible eyes. But he also wanted to save his mother and the little family he had come to love.

Only one was going to make it out of this alive. The only logical decision in this terrible situation was to save the One for All bloodline.

His power lied nowhere near what his mother displayed, but he hoped that his other quirks could make up for the massive gap between them.

He was going to attempt the unthinkable, the thought of it alone pushed a lump into his throat, but he powered through with clenched fists.

"...You three were like family to me, Toshinori."

He began to trudge forward, still considerate of the downed hero. All Might lay frozen on the ground; his eyes beginning to gloss over with unshed tears as he watched Y/N's retreating form.

"It's more than I could have ever asked for as a child."

With each step, he opened the floodgates, causing sparks of purple electricity to snap off his surroundings.

"Tell Nemuri I'm sorry and that—I love her and the girls..."

Now standing on a mound of trampled concrete, he took a deep breath and squared his shoulders.

"Y/N!" Toshinori screamed, catching the attention of their shared mentor, Gran Torino.

Zipping through the sky and to a sudden stop, Sorahiko gasped for air as he kneeled beside the downed man.
