A burst of pressure could be seen from above. Clear lines of power and speed shattered the sound barrier, popping like a bubble that rattled nearby homes to their core.
The tip of Y/N's shoes skimmed along the water, creating of curtain of white that evaporated with gusts of steam.
"Is daddy losing?" Christine asked. They watched over the fight with only Sophia and Hopper missing.
"I wouldn't be so quick to judge." Torino had joined them at the first signs of battle. He hadn't seen his former pupil so engaged in a fight for years. To say he was invested was an understatement.
"Nah." Keigo's voice edged on a laugh he kept at bay. He was giddy at the sight before him. "You should've seen him the other day. So fast I couldn't even see him."
"How fast??" Rachel asked. She and her sister couldn't look away no matter how violent or scary the two combatants may seem.
"Faster than All Might!" He whispered, sharing in her excitement.
"Really??"
"No way!""Mmm..." Torino narrowed his eyes and honed in on Y/N's distant form. They were high words of praise coming from Hawks and he could only see for himself if he was right.
Y/N smiled. That alone was telling of the fight ahead. With just a sliver of a grin, he readied himself, mimicking Mirko's slouched stance and the coiled spring within.
Nemuri was almost unnerved by it all. Y/N was anything but reckless and yet he seemed to throw caution to the wind. Not only that, he showed a side of himself she only heard described.
The ocean erupted in a zigzag pattern before the beach flashed open with sand and steam. As sudden as it happened it flicked away with a punch stopping a foot from Mirko's face. With his faint came a low kick intercepted by Mirko's readied shin.
There weren't many heroes or villains that could challenge his power, but Mirko was one of the few who stood amongst him. However, it was only a matter of time before he ascended to another plain of martial arts.
In the split second between their collision, the air began to quake. It was hot, humid, and almost crushing. The strange aura bore down on Mirko's shoulders, yet did little to slow her movements.
Bracing herself, she shifted back in a lean, avoiding a beam of energy streaking through the air. Fully expecting a punch or kick she instead avoided a minuscule burst of his energy.
In her blind spot came an almost imperceivable punch. In another split second of movement, she reached out and braced herself against the extended fist to pounce away.
Within a heartbeat, he was on her to continue his offensive push. She twirled back, launching a kick in a wide arc only to hit air.
A phantom clone flitted away, turning to the mist and dust surrounding them. Then within another blur of movement, he closed in.
The two locked themselves in a dance. One wrong move or loss of balance would have them tip or fall over completely. But unlike most dances, they bounced and weaved through one another's attacks.
A web of energy began to form between them, creating solid surfaces of scolding hot energy. Mirko ducked and weaved through each yet they grew in number the more Y/N attacked or fainted.
The longer the fight went on the more he learned. Soon enough the energy faded, and then suddenly they paused for only a fraction of a second.
Mirko huffed a tired and annoyed sigh. She needed to end the fight here and now while she had the element of surprise and Y/N hadn't quite adapted to her style.
