What was the science behind it all? How could time itself stop? And what gave him the power to separate himself from the physical world itself?

Time was relative. That was the very first thing David had taught him. The faster an object was to move the slower the world would seem around it. But that would imply an incalculable amount of speed. And moving at said speeds should destroy the planet as we know it.

Almost two hundred years ago humanity split the atom. One hundred years later the first quirk emerged, and although rare, they could recreate breakthroughs in science with a willful command. And in the minority of that minority, the laws of the universe could be broken.

Overhaul came to mind. At a mere touch, he was able to split molecules and stitch them back together in any shape or form as he desired. The world was hundreds of years away from such technology or methods to recreate it. That's if the puzzle could ever be put together and uncover such secrets.

And it brought Y/N to the question that started it all: What was the science behind it all?

If he could understand the concept and answer questions that were impossible to comprehend, he could utilize time and mold it to his every need.

"What are you thinking?" Nemuri's gentle murmur met his ears, erasing mental calculations, theories, and techniques. Replacing it was the city below and her attentive gaze in his peripherals.

"I'll have to double my training." He said with a sigh. "Maybe triple it with some visits to Dave."

"Why?" She asked, frowning.

"Tsukauchi got in touch yesterday." He whispered in English while Eri remained oblivious to their troubles. "He's been busy looking into supposed victims of my quirk..."

He gave her every bit of news, no matter how grave or sensitive. He had some things to work over once home but the unmistakable fact was still there. His family was alive and well, and wherever this weapon was could rival his power alone. And if they were as perfect as Y/N thought, then not even the combined force of he and All Might could stop them.

"How could it have perfected its quirk?" Nemuri asked. "We already know a mutation had to be forced out of you. The amount of strain and effort to go beyond could be... devastating."

"Governments are secretive in nature." Keigo suddenly added. He didn't look as worried as Nemuri but remained in earshot. "Even if they somehow detected it, they wouldn't share that information without having the world breathe down their neck."

"Those are the supposed intentions regarding the American government." Y/N revealed with a stern and steely tone.

"Are you... sure?" Nemuri hissed.

"Hawks here—"

"Keigo, please." He nodded politely to Nemuri.

"Keigo seems to think so and I trust him."

"My heart just grew three times the size." He snickered.

"We don't know how the government operated back then." Y/N brushed off the younger man's jest and rubbed his chin in thought. "But to have it all in place. A bunker, the unwritten resources, the manpower, everything. We think the Americans had come here because they were looking to silence an earlier error or clean up some of their mess. And hopefully not harness this power that may or may not have slipped from their grasp."

"We all know their tidiness and strict laws when it comes to their quirks." Keigo added.

"It's a matter of control." Nemuri hummed.

"Supposedly." Keigo pointed out.

"They were all too eager to help as well."

"Out of all the countries I petitioned for aid the US was the only one to go beyond reading my request." Keigo shrugged. "They did seem kinda eager to help once I mentioned Y/N."
