Y/N was trained in espionage. He wasn't meant to fight unless it was his last resort. Stealth was his ally, and what he did was unthinkable yet so well-executed that it earned him his infamous name.
It was common knowledge at this point. Everyone knew that. But as the footage played on and on the gathered heroes gained some sense as to why everything was so secretive.
"Here." Tsukauchi pointed to both the Nomus standing before him. Another two were at his rear flank and they were ready to pounce.
Tsukauchi brought up another video, this one displaying the shapeshifter morphing flesh with sickening pops and changes of color. Within a few seconds, it went from Nemuri to a monster.
"Villains have taken the liberty of naming them Nomus. This Nomu in particular displayed animal-like behavior with great intelligence."
The video showed Y/N's ruthless assault. Bones snapped and heroes cringed or narrowed their focus. Y/N's attacks weren't enough to incapacitate and anything thrown its way was rapidly healed. However, with its aggressive behavior and retreat, he was forced to act.
"If you notice here," Tsukauchi paused the video as a flash occurred, illuminating the room with a powerful explosion. "This Nomu has not only shifted its shape but self-destructed."
"They have more than one quirk?!" Endeavor's voice bellowed through the room, sparking debate and a rise in worry.
"So far every one Hit has encountered, yes." The detective took a deep breath, steeling his nerves with an ominous warning still creeping up in the back of his head. "With some help from an outside source we had managed to talk to this Nomu in particular."
Everyone wanted to ask how and who was it, yet the grave light in Tsukauchi's eyes veered the attention to something more sinister.
"She mentioned tree. After some debate and further discussion, we believe she referred to a family tree." The whispers nearly lost their touch as they edged into full-blown conversations and the need for answers. "And before I get to your questions, yes. This confirms there are more out there."
"Do we have any idea as to how many there are?" Tensei asked.
"A small army." Tsukauchi exhaled sharply with Endeavor's roar quieting his younger colleagues.
"Quiet!" He demanded as if they were one of his unfortunate children. "Now... Are these monsters along the lines of this one in particular??"
"It's possible." Nobody liked his speculation and it was understandable. "The latter four Hit dealt with were similar in appearance and their demeanor suggested they suited a certain role or rank. This one would be an infiltrator and the others could have been more—brawlers."
"You have to understand," The Chief added. "We're briefing you on the situation because of these infiltrators alone. And I know some of you notice there are only colleagues and mutuals among you. Everyone, including me, would have noticed a discrepancy in behavior. And if not that then appearance or mannerisms. Woof."
The room as a whole looked to their fellows on the right and then the left. There was a hint of suspicion before it quickly faded with their collective realization.
"We can't risk the public knowing." Tsukauchi sighed. "However, this reason alone is one among others."
"Continue." Endeavor ordered and Tsukauchi gave an awkward nod.
"People around the world have begun to disappear. Unfortunately, it would be the dearly departed." He quickly added. "But due to the nature of their passings, we have a vague idea of who is and isn't a victim."
