Maybe if I was cutting flowers rather than my own wrists, you would have stayed.
Maybe if I was more like a sunset rather than a starry night sky, you would have found me more attractive.
But maybe that's not a bad thing.
I am who I am
And since you couldn't love me
For that
I am better off without you.
In fact you emptied
A space
In my heart
In my mind
In my life
That's now occupied
By a very special person.
He showed me
That I am beautiful
Its okay if am not someone's sunrise
Because i am someone's else sunset.
"You are more beautiful than these earthly things. Your beauty goes beyond just the eyes. It goes inside you and through."
And that phrase has been echoing in my head ever since you said it to me baby.
I used to think that if I cut more flowers than my own wrists,
I would be more appealing.
Or maybe if I was more like the sun,
Radient and blinding,
Rather than a cold starry night,
I would be more liked.
But you taught me
That its okay not be
Someone's sunrise
Nor someone else's sunset
You showed me
How beautiful I am,
Even if I am not the sun
Nor the moon.
Because simply
I am something more than that.
I am me
"And that's more beautiful."
Thank you for reading this piece, admittedly I don't think it's one of my best works but it's def very raw and honest.
