Dlamini has been consuming transiet's bloom which we can call the mortality flower. This flower can make a vampire temporarily mortal which works hand in hand with human features. It can take a few weeks, months or years to wear off depending on how often the vampire feeds on blood.

Dlamini has been consuming the transient's bloom for him to stay 'human' so that he could be able to eat, drink and walk under the sun as normal humans do. He'd sometimes go and hunt because after all he was still a vampire and needed to feed now and then.

Seventeen years ago when Nicholas was on his hunting spree, Bongeka was going to be his next victim. It was around eight noon when Bongeka's mother was carrying her on her back from the local shops. By then Bongeka was only a year old. Her father was working far from home so he only came back on weekends.

Nicholas' lips curved into a smile, it's been long since he tasted sweet innocent blood. He didn't care about the parent, all he wanted was fresh blood.
Some vampires like Nicholas himself are very picky when it comes to blood. They prefer healthy blood. What humans consumed had an effect on the taste of their blood, vegetarians taste better than those who mostly eat junk. But then, no one has written on their foreheads that 'I'm a vegan' and babies are not always easy to find at night.

Nicholas wasn't going to let this opportunity slide, it's not everyday one gets to taste the baby's blood. Within the blink of an eye, Bongeka was on his hands and his fangs were pricking through her little neck. If it was under normal circumstances, by the time Bongeka's mother tried to reach her baby, she would have been long dead. But this time it was different, when Nicholas tasted Bongeka's blood, he spat it and he was so close to puking. That's how horrible her blood tasted. Nicholas just dropped the baby and ran back to where he came from,he was not even thirsty anymore. When he got to the vampire village, he told his best friend who happened to be Dlamini about what went down in the human world.
So both of them went back to hood, following Bongeka's scent, they were able to know where she lived and stalked her.

They suspected that maybe she was a vampire since her blood tasted horrible. Yes! Vampires don't feed on each other. They don't like the taste of their own blood.

Nicholas and Dlamini abducted Bongeka's father and turned him so they could make sure he does not die. But he was not bonded to any coterie. When the kindred and maker bond broke, he went rogue.
So he is still held hostage, they feed him but they don't dare free him because he could turn against them.

Bongeka's mother was shattered, she became a broken woman who was left by her husband. That's where Dlamini came in. He became her shoulder to cry on, they eventually 'fell in love' and Dlamini raised Bongeka as his. Years later, Bongeka started seeing things that were not there, she'd talk about how cruel the world is and it was her fault, she blamed herself for everything that is happening in the world. They took her to the therapist and she had no symptoms of any mental disorder other than anxiety since she was doing matric. Few days later she was fine again. And could not remember any of her episodes.

Bongeka's behavior confirmed Dlamini's suspicions. There was something special about her, something him and Nicholas could use to take over the vampire species, something they could use to kill wolves. Something that was going to give them eternal power. She was Pandora.
That's why they arranged a 'marriage' for her.

Dlamini could have just ran away with Bongeka but he fell deeply for her mother. She learned to love her and Bongeka. He didn't want to be the reason for her to feel pain.

Back to what was happening... After his encounter with his wife, he went out and went to the vampire village.

"Nicholas!" he was pacing up and down.
"Dlamini, I don't have time for your games. We are busy hunting for Pandora's box, Master shouldn't find you here!"
Yamkelwe wasn't told the real plan. They just told him, Dlamini found love, and she wasn't ready to be turned. So he decided to claim her and live with her in the human world.

"She knows, she knows what I am"

"Does it matter? I mean the mission is accomplished. If Bongeka is really Pandora, we'll have to kill her. Then we'll be able to have her spirit" Nicholas said, not even paying attention to what Dlamini is talking about.

"Nicholas you are not listening to me! We can't kill Bongeka"

Nicholas just shook his head and left him there.

Yamkelwe followed Cate, she led her to the same forest that Bongeka found The Box at. She started shaking, her iris and pupil (the black part of the eyes) was nowhere to be seen. The foam started to come out of her mouth. Yamkelwe just watched, not knowing what to do. After a few seconds, Cate dropped dead.
"Fuck!" Yamkelwe cursed irritated by a dead end.

Bongeka started shaking as well, she started chanting "manet spem!(hope remains)
Marco shook her "Pandora!" he called out.
"Manet spem, Manet spem, Manet spem"
"Shit, Seth!" Marco yelled
Seth came running.
"She is awakening!"
"No she can't" Seth shook his head in disbelief. Pandora needed to awake as a wolf so that her loyalty would be with wolves.
"Bite her Seth!" Marco was beyond frustrated now.
"Why?"
"You're a fuckin' Alpha! Bite her"
"But there's no full moon brother, a wolf is only born on a full moon" Seth explained the obvious.
"Just try Seth, try!"
"It won't work brother!"

Bongeka was now growling like an animal
"manet spem!"

"She is going to kill us like she has been killing the blood suckers" Seth says, Bongeka growls, giving him shudders.

"Just turn her Seth!"

In a swift, Seth was biting and scratching Bongeka, hoping I would work although it wasn't a wolf moon.

Bongeka growled louder, feeling too much heat on her flesh. Her hands become very painful. Her nails turned into claws, her facial features became larger.

"Oh goodness, Seth look!" Seth said, not knowing how to feel, he was scared to be happy as yet.

"Pandora!" Seth called out.

"Shift" he commanded, his voice was calm.

Bongeka growled again seemingly resisting.
"I said Shift!"

"Shift Pandora"

There were sounds of bones snapping and stretching, Bongeka couldn't handle the pain she was howling. Her clothes were ripping, she felt she was dying or the pain was to last forever. After two minutes, she was now able to take the pain. She started developing white beautiful hair in her body, her eyes glowed, she had abrasions on her arms and legs.

"Yes!" Marco jumped up and down and shifted. That's how happy he was.
