Starved

Bongeka was confused and hurt, if Yamkelwe made it his duty to feed her, he should have made her food before going wherever he was.

“For all I know  he could be busy sucking blood while I'm starving here!”

“Pandora, why are you shouting?” Nora asked walking down the hallway.

“I'm hungry Nora, I'm hungry”

“Didn't the master make something for you?”

“Why are you whispering?” Bongeka  asked seeing that Nora is rather uncomfortable. Her eyes were wandering around like she didn't want to be seen with her.

“Master gave a strict instruction for us not—”

“No, not you too. Master this master that. Now I should die of boredom and hunger because the Master doesn't want his vampires to talk to me? Great, just great!”

“Okay come, I hope no one sees us” Nora made her cereal, and took some fruits and snacks for her to eat later.

“Nora!” one if the vampires called out. Bongeka and Nora instantaneously swiveled in dread.

“Ha ha Good morning Nkateko” Nora greeted faking a smile.

“Are you working in the kitchen now?” Nkateko asked, folding his arms.

“Of course not”

“Hmm, basically you are confiscating  Masters food”

“That's a big accusation Nkateko!”

“That's exactly what you two are doing. And tell me, what is she doing here with you?” He asked, referring to Bongeka.

“Food is meant to be eaten. Why are you jealous with food! It's not even blood. It's just food!” Bongeka shouted.

“Tell this thing to stop talking to me,” Nkateko said to Nora, totally ignoring Bongeka.

“I don't answer from you. You don't give me orders!”

“Thank you Nkateko, I will take it from here” Kaden said, appearing from nowhere. Nkateko gave Bongeka a look before disappearing into the hallway.

“Nora, you will have to answer from me and take orders from me. Master put me in charge as you all know Nicholas is not here. Not that I owe you any explanation. Now tell me, what are you two doing here?” Kaden asked calmly.

“Master made it my duty to take care of her. Now may you excuse us?”

“Of course I will. Also, I will pretend as if you did not just lie to me seconds ago. Now go and let it be the last time you are seen with Pandora, unless you want master to chastise you”

Nora nodded and pulled Bongeka by hand and they headed to Nora's bedroom.

“I like Kaden, he is quite lenient than Nkateko”

“Be careful, the only thing that stops these vampires from killing you is that mark. Other than that, you'd be good as dead”

“Okay let me eat. Thank you for standing up for me”

“You're welcome. So, the master is back?” Nora said with a noisy grin.

“Argh, I don't understand him. He is acting like a chameleon ever since he came back. He was so mean to me, in the middle of the night he came to apologize, scratch that. He pretended to be apologizing, in the morning he was nowhere to be seen. Now I'm forbidden to eat!”

Nora was about to respond when her phone rang.

“Master” she answered, gaining Bongeka's attention.
