Jeonghan woke up in his room at their home. He remembered what happened last night. He passed out before drinking too much. He was startled so he went to the guest room to check on Sowon. But he got shocked when the room was clean. Jeonghan saw her mom walking towards his room holding a tray, "She said she has a check-up today and she doesn't want to bother you so she left over an hour ago" Mrs. Yoon told her son.
"Why didn't she wake me up? Shhhiii!" Jeonghan rushed back to his room to go with her because he was thinking about what Yanika told him again last night.
"Nope. You are not going that's what Sowon told me," Mrs. Yoon standing at the door of Jeonghan and Yanika's room.
"Eomma! She's alone! Yanika will kill me if she will know that I let her go alone again," Jeonghan frustratedly answered his mom.
"Nope! You are not going because you are still drunk. Jiyeon went with her so don't worry. She will be safe," Jeonghan felt defeated and sat on his bed.
"I made you soup and medicine for your headache," Mrs. Yoon told his son and put the tray on the table on the veranda of their room. "Come here son and we needed to talk," Jeonghan hearing that from his mom made him nervous but he followed what his mom told.
Maybe it's time, he thought.
There was a silence between Jeonghan and his mom. Mrs. Yoon was just watching his son eat the soup. "How do you feel?" she asked her son who even stopped eating. He looks at his mom.
"Ani, eomma. I am not okay," he said with his teary eyes. "How can I be happy knowing she's happy with her twins now, mom? How can I be happy knowing that I will make a family but no longer with her, ma? How can I be happy if I just found out that she loves me too before but I failed to even notice that because I was an asshole for telling myself that I love my girlfriend too? I am a jerk mom! I am a jerk! I just let go of the opportunity that was given to me by grandpa. I failed you guys, you, appa, Jiyeon, and her parents," Jeonghan began letting out what he felt on his mom's shoulders. And his mom also began hugging her crying son.
"Mom, she loves me too... before," Jeonghan mentioned.
"I know son," Mrs. Yoon consoling her son.
"You know?" he looks at his mom and Mrs. Yoon wiped away the tears from her son's face. The middle-aged lady just smiled at his son and Jeonghan was just waiting for his mom to tell him how. "Because of how she looks at you," Mrs. Yoon answered.
"It's way too late mom and I regret it," Jeonghan began weeping again on his mom's shoulders. "It's too late mom," he repeated.
"Son, we can't turn back time. You need to run your life now with the present. You know how to decide for yourself and I will support you in whatever you wanted to do. Your dad and I will be here supporting you and guiding you. We make mistakes but it's not yet late to correct them," hearing that from his mom makes him feel better but there wasn't a clarification on what he should specifically do now because the decision will still be his.
"Do I let her go, eomma?" he asked Mrs. Yoon but the idea is hurting him.
"It's not for me to decide, son. As I told you, the decisions are in your hand and you need to learn from your own mistakes. Do whatever you think is right, we respect you with that. You are old enough to make decisions now," His mom just hugs Jeonghan tightly to comfort him.
Three months later after discovering Sowon's pregnancy, the label has to still hide it in public to protect Sowon's health. Jeonghan did everything that Sowon wants and he also needed to keep her safe for the past weeks. A week ago, she decided to now live with Jeonghan in the guy's apartment and Jeonghan also thought that it would be safer for her too.
