You looked up from your book when you heard a knock at your door.

"Come in." You called. Joe peaked his head in with a small smile.

"Joe! This makes it what? The third time this week?" You teased. Joe laughed and walked into the room.

"Yup, and the last. Rumor has it, you're going home today." He smiled handing you a bouquet of flowers.

"Really?" You asked hopefully.

"Yup, and the first thing I'm gonna do is take you out on that date I promised."

"What time? A girl needs time to get ready."

"Well, it's 3 now, so I'll give you until 6."

"It's a date." You were soon discharged and had Joe drive you home.

"I'll see you in about 2 hours." He called to you as you walked to your house.

"Bye Joe." You smiled. You got into your house and took a real shower, being careful of your stab wound. You put on a red spring dress and black lace up boots. You put your hair in a pony tail, all in 2 hours. Soon, there was a knock on your door and saw Joe.

"Ready to go?" He asked smiling. He had on a white dress shirt and black jeans.

"Yeah." You smiled. You and Joe walked to his car.

"So, where are we going?" You asked.

"I thought we could get a hotdog or something and go to the park. Sorry this is the best I can do. Work hasn't really been laying good." Joe said sheepishly. You sighed and grabbed his free hand that wasn't on the steering wheel.

"It's fine Joe. As long as I'm out with you everything is gonna be fine." You smiled. Joe parked the car and you two walked out together. You just talked and laughed all day walking around the park. At 8, Joe took you home. When he pulled up to your house you just stood there. Joe turned to you.

"Thanks for letting me take you out." He smiled.

"Thanks for waiting for me." You smiled back.

"So, are you gonna let this happen again? You know, us?"

"I suppose I could. I had a really good time." Joe smiled and leaned over to kiss you. You smiled and kissed him back. When he pulled back you both had a smile on your face.

"That was definitely worth the wait." Joe grinned.
