"(Y/N), I'm really sorry about the whole volleyball thing." Joe apologized for the 10th time.
"It's fine Joe." You sighed.
"I just don't want you to think I'm some sore loser who chucked the ball at you on purpose because I was losing, because that's not who I am."
"I know that Joe. I remember last year when I was standing in the rain and you shared your umbrella with me. That was really sweet."
"Really?" I looked at the blush rising on Joe's cheeks.
"Are...Are you blushing?" You giggled.
"N-No! I'm just really mad that I almost broke your nose." Joe stuttered, blushing even more. You giggled harder and kissed his cheek. He went as red as a fire hydrant.
"It's okay Joe." You smiled. Joe lowered his head and walked a little faster.
"Aww Joe, I was just busting your chops. I do really appreciate everything you've done for me." You apologized, matching Joe's speed.
"No, I'm nothing but a loser. I don't really do sports. I only tried to be good at volleyball today to impress you. That's why I spiked the ball so hard. I wanted to show off a bit." Joe explained still not looking up.
"Impress me?"
"You like sporty guys don't you? You like guys like Pete. He has a chance at full ride to college for soccer. I, don't." You looked at Joe and took his hand in yours.
"If you wanted to impress me, you should've said this earlier. I love self confidence in a guy." You smiled. Joe looked over at you with a smile of surprise on his face.
"Seriously?" He asked, grinning.
"Yeah." You blushed.
"In that case, do you wanna get pizza or something with me after school?" Joe asked.
"Of course." You smiled at Joe. He did a small victory dance and made his way inside the gym holding your hand.
