By the sunset of the 17th, instead of enjoying his birthday, the green-haired child watched it set, with his Roselia.

"Hello. Who are you? I've never seen you around." It was a brunette, and what did you call it? Drew Hayden fell in love with the sapphire-eyed brunette at first sight.

"Um.. I don't live around here." He replied, meek, glancing at the grass pokemon.

The girl pouted, clutching a sleeping  Eevee. "Who are you?"

"Hayden. Drew Hayden." He told the brunette.

"Great, nice to meet you!" The bubbly brunette beamed. "May Maple, at your service."

"Nice name." Drew mumbled, his face flushed.

"Thanks!"

The two were inseperable, the parents were actually very good friends with the boy's parents.

Now, summer was over, and the two eight-year-olds had to separate.

"I'll be a top coordinator, just like you dream to be." May grinned. "Then, we'll see each other again."

Drew smiled, never revealing the feelings he had for the brunette, which was actually mutual.

##A few years later##

"Beautifly, use gust!" May ordered, determination was always the best trait of the 15-year-old.

"Beautifly!" The pokemon cried and used the move ordered.

"Remarkable! Spectacular!" All sorts of praises rained on the coordinator.

"And now, for the last battle of the day, Drew Hayden vs. May Maple!!" A series of cheers and kyas were heard amongst the crowd.

"Drew?" She gasped, remembering him.

"May!" He said at the same time.

"Don't intend I'll go easy on you just because we're friends!" They said in unison.

"Grr.." They growled.

"The fight begins! Each user this time only uses one pokemon each." The referree told the two opponents.

"Blaziken, take the stage!" May threw the red and white sphere.

"Go Absol!" He said.

"Ladies first."

"Blaziken, use Flamethrower!" May ordered, pointing at Absol.

"Absol, dodge and use Bite!"

The fight turned one-sided and soon, it came to an end.

May had won.

"Congrats." He said, smiling his lopsided smile.

"Thanks." May said, she had won her second ribbon.

"Here."

It was a red rose. And that's all to it.

"Uhmm.. It's not like I picked it out for you. See you."

May smiled holding the rose close to her heart.

"Some people never change." She mused. "Still tsundere."

Tsundere is a personality that people, usually girls put up a tough/cool side to hide their soft side.
