11 - THE NEXT STEP

Now that Stephen and I both met each other's families, even confessed that we both like each other, this is a huge improvement given our current situation, I tell you, I think it's only proper that we move on to the next item on the list: the wedding.

Every girl has her own dream wedding. I mean, who wouldn't get excited at the thought of white gowns, flowers, cakes and veils? Well, my wedding has been pretty much planned a very long time ago. I already have it planned right down to the smallest detail when I was a child. What can I say? I have plenty of time to kill with no one to talk with. Why not plan my dream wedding?

Ever since our confession, Stephen and I were inseperable. It's either I would stay at his house or he would stay at mine. And yes, we've been sleeping on the same bed, but nothing more than just a few kisses here and there. Okay, so maybe we've been making out but you get the point.

And today, I planned on opening the topic of our wedding. I'm currently sitting on the couch watching the TV while absent mindedly running my hand through Stephen's soft hair. I have to ask later what shampoo he uses. Stephen, on the other hand, is lying on my lap, his face turned towards my now big tummy while softly and quitetly murmuring to the baby. He's going to be the best dad, I just know it.

"Stephen."

"Hmmm?"

I decided not to beat around the bush anymore and get straight to the point.

"I want to get married soon. Specifically, before I give birth." I blurted out. That got his attention.

"Why the rush? Can't wait to call me husband?" He teased.

Yes.

"Nooo. Does it need to have a reason? I just want to." I whined and pouted.

He rose up and got into a sitting position beside me before pecking my lips.

"Okay. Anything for you, love."

I grinned before I gave him a hug and while I'm at it, I covered his face with small kisses.

"Thanks, babe." Yes, I'm now into using pet names too.

"So when is the date?" He asked me. I'm now currently sitting on his lap.

"Hmmm, I'm thinking maybe next month? Is that okay with you?"

"Won't you get too tired if we only have a month to prepare?"

"Nah, I'll be fine. I'm sure your mother and sister would help me. I mean, if they would like to, that is."

"Oh, they won't like it, they will love it, I'm telling you. My sister's itching to plan and organize a wedding."

"That would be great." I said with a smile.

"What about your mother?" And just like that, the smile disappeared.

"No, she's not invited unless she says sorry to you. Until then, it's not happening." I said.

"Princess I would hate to get in the way between you and your mother."

"How can you get in the way when we don't have a good relationship to start with? It's been this way ever since I can remember, so please just forget about her." I said.

He pressed a kiss to my temple before saying, "Okay."

Almost the half of the day, we spent talking about the wedding. I got a little notebook where I wrote all our ideas and other important things.

I want my wedding to have a spring theme. Fresh flowers, leaves, you get the idea. Stephen and I agreed to having pastel colors as the color scheme of our wedding. We also started thinking of whom to invite to our wedding. Of course, Stephen's whole family will be invited together with my girls. And also Helen. I want my wedding to be a solemn one so I will only be permitting one, maybe two, media companies inside the church. Besides them, no other reporters/paparazzis will be let in. For now, they are the ones who made the list. We're still thinking of others.
