Stephen Portman's second book, My Imaginary Friend, is a big, international hit! Selling almost 5 billion copies only after a week after its release, it is quickly going up the ranks and immediately filling up the bookshelves of local and international bookstores. The book received positive reviews from different book critiques as well as from the different distinguished writers of our time.
My Imaginary Friend is a thriller about a girl, Agatha, who grew up with John. One day, John suddenly disappeared and when Agatha asked around, no one seems to know of his existence, except her. The book immediately caught the attention of the readers with its thrilling and very shocking plot, and now, it's one of the best-selling books. Is this a rising star we're seeing? We'll definitely wait for Mr. Portman's upcoming books. Stay tuned at The Star Magazine.
Stephen is definitely thrilled with his success. He hasn't stopped smiling and grinning ever since we received the news. And of course, I can't help but take up the role of the proud wife. I wish I saw my mother's reaction to the news. Ha. Take that mother.
Stephen's phone also hasn't stopped ringing ever since his book became a hit. Mostly they were from his agent, yes he has an agent now, informing him of the different interviews, book signings, events and whatnot that needed to be attended or scheduled. His schedule definitely became more hectic and I feel a little saddened by the news because that means I have less time to spend with him. But I'm sure after a while, the buzz will go down and the meetings and interviews will lessen in number.
Of course, his family and friends and the girls also called to congratulate him on his success.
And now, we're calling everyone to invite them to our home which celebrates Stephen's success and it also serves as a house warming. Stephen happened to be free tomorrow and today so we took the opportunity to spend time with our loved ones while we still can.
The guests only include Stephen's family and friends, my friends and Helen. It will be held tomorrow at lunch time.
"Babe, are you finished making the calls?" Stephen asked.
"Yup. Oh, and we need to go the grocery to buy the things we need for tomorrow."
"How about you just write a list of what we need and stay here while I go and buy them."
"But I want to come." I said, feeling like crying. Damn hormones.
"I know princess. But if you come, you will be tired and you feet and back will hurt. It will be better if you just stay and rest."
"I've been resting here all day. I've had enough rest." I argued.
"But baby, that's what pregnant women are supposed to do. Stay home and rest."
I can feel myself getting angry. Oh no. He did not just said that.
"Are you telling me that I'm good for nothing except staying at home and eating?" I said, my voice eerily calm.
Stephen visibly gulped and gave a nervous laugh.
"You know that's not what I meant princess."
"Then what the fuck did you mean?"
"I meant to say that you should get dressed now since we're going to the grocery to buy the things we need for tomorrow. And stop cussing like a sailor."
I gave a happy squeal, my anger suddenly vanishing. I gave Stephen a hug and kissed his lips.
"Thanks." I said before dashing up the stairs to get changed.
