15 - A HAPPY WIFE IS A HAPPY LIFE

It's already almost midnight when the plane touched the ground. We claimed our bags. We were almost halfway when Jo met us.

"Good evening Ms. Williams, Mr. Portman." Jo greeted us.

"Good evening Jo. And it's already Mrs. Portman." Stephen said with a cheeky grin while placing his hand on the small of my back.

"My apologies sir. I've forgotten that you already gotten married." Jo replied with a small smile.

"Well, I don't know about you two, but I'm tired and I wanna go home already. It's not good for pregnant women to sleep late you know." I said while stifling a yawn.

Stephen gave me an incredulous look and said, "You slept through almost the plane ride. How can you still sleep?"

I glared at him and I gritted through my teeth, "You don't want to leave here? Fine. Then stay here and stay awake all night. I'm leaving."

I started walking towards the exit and when I noticed Jo still standing there, I gave him a sharp look and said, "Jo, let's go."

I gritted my teeth while walking. Stupid man doesn't want to sleep. I mean, who even refuses sleep? I internally scoffed. Your father is crazy sunshine, I thought.

An arm went around my waist.

"You know I was just kidding babe." Stephen said then he placed a kiss on my cheeks. And just like that my anger disappeared into thin air and is now replaced by naughty thoughts. All just because of a kiss. On the CHEEK. Can you believe this hormones?

"Whatever." I grumbled and continued walking towards the exit. Stephen only chuckled.

Jo loaded our bags in the car and we all went inside. Jo started the engine and started driving towards home. I can feel my eyes getting heavier and heavier as if someone is placing weights on my eyelids. I felt Stephen guide my head towards his shoulder and I happily obliged.

I woke up with a jolt. Huh. That's weird. We're still in the car. We should be home by now. I checked my watch to confirm the time. Yup, I should be happily sleeping in my bed right now.

I looked outside my window to see where we are only to find unfamiliar places.

"Jo, where are we going? This is not the way towards home." I said.

"Didn't Mr. Portman tell you, miss?" He replied, looking at me through the mirror.

I turned to Stephen and found him lightly snoring. Soo adorable.

I gently shook him awake.

"What? Are we there yet?" Stephen mumbled sleepily while rubbing his eyes.

"Where are we going Stephen?" I asked him.

He looked at me like I'm crazy.

"Home? Where else?"

"This is not the way towards home." I told him, my eyes narrowing.

He realized something and laughed softly.

"My dearest, beautiful wife. Did you forget about the house we bought? Didn't we agree that we will stay there after our marriage?" He said before kissing me lightly on the nose.

Ooohhh... I forgot.

I gave a sheepish laugh and said, "I forgot."

He only chuckled in return.
