Ripped open the door and slammed it shut behind me, throwing my hoodie over my head. He has the attitude of a fucking toddler and then tells me "You can carry on your workout" When he came uninvited and drove in silence for 5 hours. I needed to get away from him before I did something, I won't regret.
Well, I am out, I can see the devil's territory myself. I knew Pendjo would have his guards follow me; I am not foolish.
They cannot hide away from me, wearing black suits in a white forest. Training for so many years, the crushing of snow from their feet was clear as daylight. The winter snow didn't bother me as much as I thought it would; my running kept me warm.
It was a quiet and unique place to live. I wouldn't live in such cold weather, but it was calming and peaceful to watch the snowfall on the ground; the relaxing sound of my feet crushing the snow and the wild animals enjoying the view of the sun setting.
The temperature started to drop fast as the sun slowly set. Looking at my watch, I saw I have been running for 12 miles (20km). Pieces of snow melted from my body temperature, making me wet. The cold air started crawling up my skin giving me goosebumps, the snow fell harder as the darkness took over the sky.
Turning around to head back. Two guards ducked behind the trees to hide away "You guys will get yourselves killed like that. You can't even hide away from me" I yelled, walking towards them.
"Stop hiding! I am not going to kill you. You guys are grown-ass men, not children. Act Like It!" Glimpsing at each other they stood out from behind the trees as one of them handed me another spare blazer. Which they had brought for me; placing it over my shoulders. "Yes ma'am," they spoke.
Oh my God - Stop it with this ma'am shit. I am too young to be called ma'am.
"Please call me Aideen or Miss A. Not this – ma'am shit" I waved my hand in the air; blowing away the ma'am tone. They nodded and we all walked back.
"Can I ask some questions about Harrison and his family?" The Barone family isn't so public; but when they are, they are posh like royals. But something has been on my mind for some time. They looked at one other, questioning if they should tell me anything. "Oh my God, Boys! I am getting married to your boss. I need to at least know my husband, should I not?" They looked at one other again and nodded – Good.
What I know – Is that his Father; Antonio was friends with mine, before he died in Italy. That his Mother; Chantel, is in real estate. I know he has an Uncle, which is forbidden to be spoken of, and that Harrison is an only child.
"Does he have other family members besides his Uncle?" One of the guards removed his glasses so he could see as the sky got darker. I was slightly intimidated by his grey eyes looking down at me – They might even be taller than Harrison?
"No Miss A. His Grandparents passed away 2 years back. He only talks to his Uncle now and then for negotiating." Negotiating? - Interesting. I thought he might have been an outcast, from not being allowed to talk about himself.
Gripping on the blazer tighter to keep warm. I looked up at the sky. The twinkles of the balls of gas we call stars shined. A strange silvery cloud grew across the sky as the night took over – The Milky way is stunning from here.
"Master Harrison loves looking up at the sky. He would star gaze for hours on the rooftop. Don't tell him, we told you." He whispered; which a subtle smile grew. At least we have something in common.
"What about his clients and business associates?"
"Master Harrison doesn't like it when things go out of place. But Master Harrison has uhm - " he paused to think. " – anger issues which cause...complications later on."
It's not that hard to say he kills them. In this Industry, there is no room for errors; like people - So we just cut their lines lose from the start.
We got back to the house, you could see the fire was still going, keeping the house warm. The guards stood outside by the door at their posts as I walked inside. Harrison got these men working like his dogs in the cold.
Walking up the stairs to explore, a slightly open door stood. Slowly opening and walking in, a dark-themed bedroom was relived. A wall-sized window stood the length of the room on the left side. A King-sized bed sat in the middle of the room, against the wall.
Which didn't connect to the window; leaving room for a doorway.
I followed it; walking into the bathroom behind the wall. The wall behind me was the only wall made from black concrete as the rest was the glass; overlooking the frozen dam and forest. I thought bathrooms were supposed to be private, not so open.
A crystal bath stood in the corner of the room as a huge rectangular, rain shower head, hung from the middle of the room. Behind the wall of the bed, two glass basins stood on black furnished cabinets, sitting below a full-length mirror; reflecting the white forest behind.
Staring into the mirror, I could imagine Harrison standing in the middle of the room. Feeling the water drip down his inked body, all the way down to his – AIDEEN!!
Shaking my head out of its daydreaming state, I headed out of the room. Walking out, to the right a walk-in closet with glass doors stood. Showing Harrison's and my clothes hanging inside – So, this is where I will be forced to sleep.
Walking out of the bedroom, I walked down the hallway to the Eastside, knowing the door at the end of the hallway, might be my office. Opening the door to see all my things laid out for me. A wide window overlooks a brown deer in the never-ending white forest.
A desk stood at the back of the office, with two of my screens mounted against the wall. Which my other three monitors sat on the desk. TwoMonstera Deliciosa in large pots stood on either side of the desk giving some greenery to the room.
A wall in front of my desk was dedicated to all my books and contract files. A few low-light plants were hanging; filling the gaps on the shelf. The dark brown wooden flooring complemented the cream furniture, as the large L-shaped couch stood in the middle of the room with a coffee table.
This room is different from the dark gloomy house he has - and his mysterious activities.
People think being in this type of Industry is just selling drugs, like cocaine, doing illegal things or laundering money. Which they are wrong. It's much more - much worse.
Like everything in life, there is a bad side to being part of this Industry. Women and children get trafficked, turn into sex slaves or work in our labour force; like in the Middle East, North of Africa and the Cartels in North of South America.
Smaller gangs come out in the middle of the night in the city. Are not the Mafia. They are ants compared to us - Ants that cause shit.
