Christiana called me, frantically telling me that Aideen was on her way to the hospital to see Harrison. I walked into the hospital, clutching a bouquet of flowers. I knew Harrison didn't like flowers; they weren't for him. They were for Aideen.

As I made my way down the hallway toward Harrison's room, a few nurses rushed past me, pushing me aside. "CODE BLUE. TAKE HER TO TRAUMA!"

Trauma?

The nurses rolled a person into the hospital. She looked pretty messed up. I felt a pang of sympathy for her. If it's a code blue, it must be serious.

They wheeled her down the hallway, and the closer they got, the more familiar she looked.

OH NO!

Fuck!

That's Aideen!

I dropped the flowers and followed the nurses. "Hey! Wait! That's Aideen! That's my friend!" One of the nurses stopped me. "Sorry, sir, you must wait—"

"No! That's my friend! What happened to her?"

"She will be okay. Please relax," the nurse replied, but I couldn't calm down. I looked at her, then back at the doctors pushing Aideen's lifeless body away.

Fuck! What is happening? Tears started to well up in my eyes.

I stood up straight, trying to compose myself. The doctors will take care of her. Don't let Harrison see your emotions; he just woke up. I didn't want to scare him.

I forced myself to walk to Harrison's room and sat beside his bed. His eyes were still closed. Maybe he was sleeping.

"Fuck!" I mumbled into my hands, now covering my face. A close friend was in danger, and I was such a dick to her. I never even said I was sorry. I doubted her when she believed Harrison would survive. Now I didn't know if she would make it.

"Jack?" Harrison's voice pulled me from my thoughts. I looked up, my eyes brimming with tears.

"Shit, dude," Harrison chuckled weakly. "Which girl broke your heart this time?" Oh no, Harrison, I can't tell you.

A group of nurses ran past his room, and he glanced at them, then back at me. Without me saying a word, he knew exactly which woman had broken my heart.

His adrenaline kicked in, and in a burst of determination, he yanked out all the tubes and wires from his body, getting out of bed. I stood up as he tried to leave. "Harrison, that is not a good idea."
