"Harrison, give me your hand." He took his right hand, and I placed it gently on my belly. He gasped as he felt the boys kicking inside, each little fighter vying for space. "See? These two definitely have their father's fighting skills. They're like watermelon ninjas!"
Harrison chuckled. "Watermelon ninjas?"
"Yes! They feel like watermelons, and they never stop moving like ninjas. They're constantly kicking me. Urgh!" A sudden jab to my lung made me wince.
He laughed, interlocking his fingers with mine. He lifted my hand to his lips, kissing it softly. "I love you so much." He snuggled my hand against his cheek.
"I love you too."
As we drove from Montana back to our house in Canada, we pulled into the driveway. I reached for my door, but Harrison jumped out of the car and dashed around to close it. "Hey!!"
He opened the door for me, a serious look on his face. "You may not open this door. Never touch this door, okay?" I giggled as I stepped out.
"Careful, careful, Aideen," he said, helping me out of the car.
"I'm not helpless, Harrison; I'm just pregnant," I laughed, rolling my eyes. We walked toward the front door.
"Good afternoon, boys," I greeted the guards.
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Barone," they replied, and I chuckled as I entered the house.
"Why are you giggling?" Harrison asked.
"I'm not used to being called Mrs. Barone." He grabbed my cheeks and kissed me passionately. "Well, you're going to have to get used to it."
"Okay, you lovebirds. Break up the kissing fest!" I turned to see Christiana climbing out of the in-ground couch. "How are you, Aideen?"
"I'm well. Are you ready for lunch?"
"Lunch? Oh, crap!" I suddenly remembered our plans. "I'm so sorry, Christiana. My brain has been all over the place."
She giggled. "It's alright. We can go now if you'd like."
"Aideen!?" Harrison interjected, giving me a stern look. I glanced back at him, confused.
"What?" I asked, but then pulled out my gun from the holster on my hip and pointed it at him. He lifted his hands in surrender.
"I'm only four months pregnant! I'm fine. I can still defend myself." I tucked the gun back away, feeling a rush of defiance. "I still have my reflexes, and I'm not helpless."
