She saved me...
We saved each other... Now I need to save her...
I pressed down on Aideen's abdomen, my heart racing as I heard footsteps approaching the house. "Fuck, they're back," I mumbled, instinctively pulling out my gun and aiming toward the sound. Aideen was losing too much blood, but I couldn't leave her here to die.
Lorenzo, Miles, and Muller appeared over the wall, and I pointed my gun at them, Aideen still cradled in my arms. "Fuck, Harrison!" they shouted, rushing toward me.
"What happened? Are the kids okay?" I asked, panic tightening my chest.
"Don't worry about the kids; they're in the bunder underneath the house. They're fine," Muller assured me. "We need to help you and Aideen. We have to get her to the nearest hospital!"
"Where's the nearest hospital?" I demanded, rising with Aideen in my arms, carrying her bridal style.
"Baylor University Medical Centre," Lorenzo replied. All three of them were covered in blood and cuts, and I felt a surge of guilt. Jack had warned me to keep an eye out for Fernando, and I hadn't listened. I hadn't wanted to stress Aideen, and now I might lose her.
We bolted outside to the cars. Miles opened the back seat, and I gently laid Aideen down, my heart in my throat. I settled beside her, her legs draped over my lap, while Miles stayed behind to watch over the kids. Lorenzo slid into the front seat, and Muller revved the engine, racing us toward the hospital.
Dirt and rocks flew into the air as the tires screeched against the ground. "Har...rison!" Aideen mumbled, her voice barely a whisper as I pressed down harder, trying to stem the flow of her blood.
"Shh! Aideen, conserve your energy. Just stay still," I urged, my hands slick with her blood.
Desperate, I fished my phone out of my pocket and dialed Jack's number, the screen smeared with red. "Jack! Aideen is injured. Get Christiana and meet us at Baylor University Medical Centre. Now!"
"On our way!" he replied, and I hung up, tossing my phone onto the floor as I applied pressure again.
The car screeched to a halt in front of the hospital. Lorenzo flung my door open, and I scooped Aideen into my arms, rushing inside. "HELP! PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP!" I shouted, my voice cracking.
