Two months into Aideen's pregnancy, and she was doing amazing. She was still as fierce as ever, torching men and kicking ass. But things took a turn when the boys started kicking at three months. Typically, babies start kicking at around twenty weeks (four months) if it's a single baby, but twins can start as early as thirteen to twenty weeks (three to four months).

I had to put my foot down and forbid Aideen from going on missions or accompanying me to the warehouses. Those drives were long, and she couldn't be alone. At first, she was upset, and we fought about it, but deep down, she understood my intentions and eventually accepted it.

My guards would drive her to her warehouses or small client meetings nearby, while she spent her time at home, welcoming friends and family visits.

We were also in the process of building a new house near the Rocky Mountain Pass in Montana, set against the stunning backdrop of Flathead National Forest. However, Aideen constantly complained about being unable to carry two kids while construction workers surrounded her 24/7. She even joked about shooting them.

The dust and noise were driving her crazy.

To keep her calm, we moved to my home in Canada while the Montana house was being built. Aideen's hormones were all over the place; her mood swings, combined with pregnancy hormones, made for a volatile mix.

"Urgh!!" she whined into the phone. I had run some errands and had left her at the new house to oversee the construction workers.

With her pregnancy hormones, she had become clingy-like a baby koala. "I wish you were here. These construction workers are getting on my nerves, and I'm getting moody," she lamented, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

"I know, darling. I know." I continued to giggle at her frustration.

"Why are you walking like that?" I teased.

"Walking like what?" she questioned, sounding defensive.

"Like you have a stick up your back," I smirked.

She straightened up immediately, trying to fix her posture. "Well, you're not the one carrying twin boys that feel like two watermelon ninjas inside of me... Wait! How do you know?" She froze, all flustered.

"Turn around, Mama."

Her head shot toward me as I leaned against the front door. There she was, standing there with the phone at her ear, shocked to see me.

I hung up the call, a smile spreading across my face. "Hi, Mama." Her eyes filled with tears, and I realized those pregnancy hormones were in full effect again. I rushed to her, throwing my keys into the bowl as I ran.

I enveloped her in a hug, her face burying itself in the crook of my neck. "Aideen, are you alright?" I asked, concerned. "What happened? Is something wrong, or is it the hormones?"

"I'm alright, I promise," she said, though the tears continued to fall. She hiccupped, and I placed my hands on her shoulders, pushing her back slightly to look into her eyes.

"Are you sure? You're crying. Does your stomach hurt? Are the boys kicking? Did one of those construction workers hurt you? What's wrong?"

"Harrison, I'm fine. It's just hormones." She started giggling through her tears, but I still couldn't tell if they were tears of sadness or happiness. I pulled her close again, hugging her tightly yet gently, careful not to hurt her.

"I'm always here-" I kissed her forehead. "-Come on, let's go home."

She smiled, and together, we headed back home.
