Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win–But I will never lose.
Red. Red. Red - pulling up the handbrake, pressing on the gas - Green.
Clutch, shift, handbrake, fly.
Our back tires created smoke as we both took off, leaving the other eighteen racers in the dust. Laughing in excitement.
Shift. Gas.
The adrenaline rushed through my vein, hearing the engine roar louder with furrier every shift.
After leaving the racetrack, we drove into the city of Los Angeles. Driving through red lights as cars dodged us on the street, honking in anger.
Shift. Gas.
Neck and neck with one another, drifting around corners and bouncing around on the road, creating sparks as our cars hit the ground.
Shift. Gas.
The fire blew out of my exhaustion as I double-clutched, getting ahead of the Black Mamba.
"I hear you enjoying this, Aideen," Christiana spoke, thrilled to hear my excitement. "Aw fuck yes. I love this so much."
The Black Mamba got ahead of me. Drifting around a corner, we drove down a straight, right towards the town square. The lights were red, as people were crossing the street and cars driving across.
"Shit!!"
Shifting down a gear, and turned my steering wheel to the left as we both drifted beside one another through the town square. Almost feeling like in an alternative universe, as it all felt like slow motion.
People's shocked faces passed over my windscreen. Looked around as the lights of the electronic billboards reflected off my car's black chrome finish - until I saw it - him; Fernando Barone.
The GTR's window rolled down, helmet visor lifted just enough for me to see him.
The Black Mamba was Fernando; he was the faceless driver.
We drifted out-of-town square as we both straightened out. I yelled, holding in my earpiece. "IT'S HIM!!"
"It's who, Aideen?" Harrison asked in an off tone. "The faceless driver! It is fucking him." I yelled, hitting the wheel. Shifting and pressing the gas harder.
"The Fucking Black Mamba. He is Fernando" The line went silent. No one responded.
"Shit!!" Jack said. "This wasn't the plan!!" I looked to my right and his window was up.
