Quinn Angelo

We won another game, which means we party all night. I stand in the kitchen holding a cold beer. Strobe lights and pounding music gives me some form of life.

"Where is Lil?" I ask Adelyn, noticing she walked in alone.

"Lil?" She questions.

"Everyone calls her Lilly or Lillian so Lil it is," I say then realize it sounds stupid.

She laughs, "she's coming later, her dad just came home for the first time in like forever but she will be here." She gives me a smile and wanders off.

She comes an hour or so later and I'm on my 3rd, maybe 4th beer. She is wearing a black dress with white shoes.

"Hey." She smiles.

"Hey," I smile back.

"I'm gonna get a drink." She leaves behind her signature scent, a Gucci perfume, expensive and sophisticated just like her.

I head outside and sit on the steps, grabbing one of my stashed pre-rolled joints, and lighting it I take a long drag of it, smoke filling my lungs and freeing my mind. The cool summer night air breezes past my skin making me cold but the weed keeps me warm.

The door opens behind me and music spills out. Lil stands beside me, "Molly is better."

"You've tried molly?" I'm shocked her goody-two-shoes ass would do drugs.

"No but it sounds better than weed." she giggles. She walks to the lit fire pit. I let my eyes take in her outfit and damn she looks good. She sits on one of the arms of the chair. I don't see who is sitting in the chair but when it's my turn to face her I notice it's Cameron.

"Vodka." I stick out my hand to one of my friends that loves to play bartender. Josh hands me a bottle and I let my lips close around the top of the bottle and I throw my head back letting the liquor burn inside me. I move to the makeshift dance floor and find everyone dancing and having fun, so I decide to join them. A blond that is in a barely-there dress comes over to me, pressing her tiny frame against me. We dance to the music.

People screaming outside catch a few people's attention and they go outside to check it out, so do I. I watch Lil yell at Cameron and then throw her drink on him. Some of the bystanders wince. I rush out to them, I may not like Cameron but he is my teammate and she is just another girl.

"What the fuck!" Cameron screams at her.

"You deserve every bad thing in your life." She says with a low warning tone.

"What the fuck was that?" I approached both of them, the alcohol and weed were wearing off with every step I took closer.

"He tried to-" she starts but I cut her off.

"I don't care what he did, you need to leave right now," I say, grabbing her arm, fire burns in her eyes along with unshed tears.

"He tried-" she tried again.

"Stop trying to defend yourself, I may not like him but he comes before you, everyone else in this world will always come before you." I spit in her face, the alcohol and high gone now and I just wanted this mess done with.

A tear slips down her cheek. She turns on her heel and walks out the gate and into the darkness.

Cameron has a triumphant smile on his face. "Can I get a towel or a change of clothes?" He asks.

"You're on your own," I say, turning around and walking back inside.

He jogs up to me to match my pace. "If she says anything about tonight it's probably not true, she is a bit drunk. I wonder how she is gonna get home?" He rambles.

"What do you mean by 'I wonder how she is gonna get home?'" I ask stopping in my tracks.

"She didn't drive, I think, she didn't have keys with her. Maybe she walked, oh well." Cameron laughs and walks into the house.

Well if there's a dead body found close by here we know it was her.
