I sit up, my back aches from not sleeping in my bed, a blanket is haphazardly thrown over my body. Light streams through the large windows. I groan not wanting to get up. The smell of pancakes reaches my nose. I look over the back of the sofa to see a shirtless Quinn in the kitchen.
"How long have you been awake?" My voice is scratchy.
He looks up from the plate, "not long, you hungry?"
"Very," I say, throwing the blanket off of me and walking to my bathroom. My mind is hazy about what happened last night, I stick the toothbrush in my mouth and run it against my teeth. I walk back downstairs taking a moment to appreciate Quinn in all his glory, standing shirtless in my kitchen.
"What's for breakfast?"
"Pancakes," he points to the stack on the counter and the various toppings.
I grab a plate putting a fluffy pancake on it and some whipped cream and chocolate chips. I sit down on a barstool and watch Quinn dress his own pancake with various fruits.
"Your pancake looks healthy," I grimace.
"It's good, better than sugar for breakfast."
I cut off a piece of pancake and held it in front of him, "eat it."
He closes his mouth around the fork. He chews for a moment before saying, "it tastes like pure sugar, something I would have when I was five."
"Your loss," we eat the rest of the pancakes.
"What are we doing today?" Quinn asks, watching me wash the dishes.
"We? I have plans."
"Fine, I need to get going anyways," he grabs his bag from the floor. "See you at school."
"Bye," I call after him.
I somehow ended up in the over sterile hell with another needle being stuck into me because the nurse can't find a vein.
"Let's try again," she says, my arm was bruised and bleeding from how many times she stuck the needle in me.
I groan hating this, "Where is Debra?"
"She's out today," she finally finds a vein to stick the needle in.
My leg nervously bounces as I watch the red liquid pouring from my body.
"You alright?" the nurse asks.
"Peachy." My phone rings and Andy's name flashes across.
"Hey babe," I answered."
"There's a party tonight, at the beach, we are going." her excited voice comes from the other end. What happened to 'hey'.
"Yeah but it's a drive there and we need to get a room there." I really don't want to go.
"Jacob has an apartment there, we can crash there. Pick me up at 2." She hangs up.
Another party...yay...
I get back and quickly throw together some clothes in a bag. I hop into a car and race to Addy's house.
"You're late," she grumbles.
"You could have gotten a ride from Jacob."
"Whatever, I would rather spend time with you. I'm so excited for this weekend." she bounces in her seat.
This was going to be a long drive.
