Quinn Angelo

I stood next to her in the hall. People were scrambling to get to their next class before the bell rang.

"What the hell happened to Lilly?" Addy comes up to me, the next morning alone.

"What do you mean?" I lean my body against my locker.

"She isn't here and she didn't seem like her normal self when I texted her." her hands are thrown in the air.

"Why do you assume I did anything?" Her eyes narrow at my statement, if looks could kill I would be dead.

"Fine don't tell me," turning on her heel she storms away.

We win our game but every time I turn to the cheerleading squad I don't see Lil. The second the game is over I rush to the locker room and grab my shit.

"Cameron." a voice says. I turn and see Cameron drag who looks like Lil to a corner. "Let go of my arm."

"My threats are not empty," I moved closer to where they stood around the corner trying my best to not make a sound.

"I don't give a flying fuck." her flat voice says.

"You want to go to a good college and keep your trust fund then keep quiet" I can hear the smirk in his voice.

"I didn't do anything to your brother, you did." She says.

She runs into me as she leaves the back corner. "Boys." I hear her mutter.

"How long were you eavesdropping?"

"Long enough to know you're in deep shit."

"Funny," her dry laugh sounds.

"I'll meet you at your house." I turn away to go to my car.

"No, you need to listen and I'll talk," she says, climbing into her car leaving me in her dust.

I walked through her front door and through the cold house. "Why didn't you cheer for this game?" I ask when I find her in the kitchen.

"I didn't feel like it, I don't need a reason to do anything do I?" she leans her hip against the countertop.

"No, it's just-" I move to sit on a bar stool.

"Leave it alone."

"Thanks," I murmured when she slid me a bowl of pasta.

"Shouldn't you be at a party?" She asks, spooning pasta into her mouth.

"Yeah but I don't feel like partying." I shove some pasta in my mouth.

A silence falls over us and we just eat.

"Did you wanna stay over and watch a movie or something," she asks.

I look up and try to decipher her expression. "Yeah sure," I say carefully.

"You can find a movie on the TV," she nods her head towards the living room's flat-screen TV, "I'll pop some popcorn."

I turn on the TV and open Netflix, I scroll through finding a horror movie. I big bowl of popcorn is placed in my hand.

"Not this movie," she says, falling onto the couch.

"Yes this movie," I sat beside her.

We watch in silence and the horror movie plays out, I occasionally glance at her from the corner of my eye.
