"How long 'till anyone notices?" Quinn asks. We sat side by side at the cafe.

"I dunno," I sip the smoothie I ordered.

I watch the people inside the cafe interacting, talking.

"Would you date a guy?" I ask randomly.

"What?" Quinn asks, shocked.

"Would you?"

"I haven't thought about it.." he trails off like he isn't even sure of his own answer.

"So that's a no."

"Would you date a girl?" he threw back my question.

I take a long sip of my smoothie thinking.

"I'm not opposed to the idea," I honestly don't even know what I'm saying.

Would I even date a girl?

"You would date a girl?" His tone sounds accusing.

I shrug my shoulders, "you make it sound like a bad thing." I quickly turn and look at him my eyes wide, "are you homophobic?" I whisper yell.

"No, I'm not homophobic," he whispers yells back.

"The way you said it made me think differently."

"Why don't we change the subject," he nods his head with a forced smile.

"Fine," I say looking back at the people around us.

"So when's your dad coming back?" he asks after a while of sitting in silence.

"Not sure," I try not to sound disappointed.

"When's your brother coming back from college?"

"You knew my brother?" he asks, kinda shocked.

"Yes I did, he threw parties all the time."

"How did you know that, I mean he graduated when we were freshmen."

"Everyone knew your brother."

"He might come home for the break."

I nod. My phone chimes with an email from the school.

"I think they found out," I say, facing my phone towards Quinn.

I click on the notification and it immediately takes me to the email sent by the school.

Dear parents and students,

There has been a malfunction with our school's grade book. The grade you see for your classes as of right now is not your actual grades. We are trying our hardest to fix this and get down to the issues.

Thank you, Laura Fletcher

"That's oddly short for Laura."

"Yeah, it is," I reply.

"Do you think she's onto us?" Quinn asks nervously.

"Come on, you're seriously freaked over this, it was your idea."

"But it's your computer."

"Oh shit," I say.

What have I gotten myself into?

"What do I do, I can NOT get suspended." I start to hyperventilate.

"Relax, the schools are not gonna expel you, they'll turn a blind eye to money, make 'em an offer they can't refuse," he says with an encouraging smile.

Lord have mercy this can't end well.
