In a village far away from most of the human population, there was a rumor going around. A rumor that for years had been the topic among the elderly, that later on spread like fire to the young ones and even to other villages and towns: a child that only the people bestowed with the gift of seeing the unseen could see.

The ones who claimed to have encountered such a mysterious child have said that the kid has golden butterflies fluttering all around him and mismatched eyes, seeing him most of the times near the forest. For this reason, the villagers believed that there was a high possibility that the child lived in the old house close to the forest.

However, no one dared to get close to that house in order to find out the truth, since an old woman lived there. Furthermore, a few villagers had already asked her about the mysterious kid. She denied everything, saying she has been living alone after her daughter passed away and that such a child couldn't possibly exist.

None of the villagers that could see the unseen believed the old woman, believing with certainty that she was protecting the child. This rumors later on fell into the ears of Ryomen Sukuna, the curse who wanted to consume the child's life.

He had been searching for the kid for years not wanting to give up in regaining his true form, traveling to different villages and towns without having any luck. He was already very tired of traveling and even pissed off beyond words of not even finding a simple clue about the whereabouts of the child of the Black Butterfly.

But after he arrived at this village, he clearly heard some of the villagers speak about the misfortune caused by a mysterious child that almost no one could see, causing the village to fall into a never-ending curse. Although, it was a mystery if those rumors were true or not.

However, Sukuna could not ignore it, unable to stop a vile smirk from forming on his lips by the thought of the child finally falling into his hands, thinking that maybe this time his bad luck will finally come to an end.

That's why unable to wait, he started to search the whole village. Unfortunately, he couldn't find anything, not even a single trace that could lead to the mysterious kid the people believed in. Not knowing what else to do and still refusing to give up, he decided to stay in the forest that is located on the outskirts of the village for the time being.

The forest that was called 'Cursed' by the villagers, was a place where only the unseen, mysterious, grotesque creatures lived. The trees that was supposed to be adorned with golden and scarlet leaves was empty of foliage, resembling trees of a winter day. However, the difference was that the trees remained the same every single day, the trees never changed even when the seasons changed.

The first time Sukuna stepped inside the forest, he felt the shift in the air and thousands of eyes observing him like vultures. With every step he took, eyes followed him everywhere, until his evil aura started to pour out endlessly, making the creatures scatter into the darkest night.

And soon after that day, the creatures of the forest knew he was a curse just like them, therefore they didn't pay attention to him anymore. But that night something changed, the red butterflies after a long time appeared once again, speaking a language that he could only understand.

The red butterflies that have vanished after consuming the second child of the Black Butterfly have finally decided to appear, making Sukuna believe that the kid indeed lived somewhere in the village.

"It's exactly like what you are thinking," the red butterflies read his mind, fluttering all around him. "The child of the unseen indeed lives somewhere in this village. Since you arrived, I been feeling the presence of the child lingering in the air."

After hundreds of years of consuming the lives of the children that was able to see the unseen, he was able to regain at least the form of a human. However, he still was far for regaining his true form. After all, he only had one face and two arms, and even when he looked almost like a human, he couldn't speak and his left eye was missing.
