Sukuna was completely sure that the brat will come back for his friend, since he knew the behavior a human has for one of their kind, especially if they are someone important to them. So after his red butterflies took Toge to an old shrine inside the cursed forest, he waited patiently for him to arrive.

Tsumiki had dropped the basket of fruits the moment she ran off together with her grandson, so Sukuna picked up a red apple that was still inside the basket. He was curious to know how the humans' food tasted, but before he could take a bite, faint footsteps reached his ears.

He looked where the sound was coming from, a grin quickly appearing on his lips at the sight of the brat walking towards him. It was just like he thought moments ago, Megumi had really decided to come back for his friend. Now, after a long time, he can finally regain his true form!

With the help of the red butterflies Sukuna laughed and said: "You really came back for your friend. Are you not afraid for your own life, brat? You should already know everything after the Blue Butterfly saved you, but even so, you still want to save your friend regardless of that."

Megumi soon stopped walking after hearing Sukuna's words not wanting to get more closer to him, trying to keep his distance as much as possible. He noticed that Toge wasn't here anymore, wondering what could have possibly happened to him after he run off together with his grandma.

"Where's Toge?" Megumi asked, aware that Sukuna could not have consumed his life.

"You don't have to worry about him, he's fine," Sukuna replied with no intentions of lying, tucking away the apple inside of his kimono to eat later. "However, that could change depending on your actions, brat. If you don't want your friend to die, then I suggest you to come with me."

"I'm not coming with you without knowing where Toge is," Megumi glared. "And don't expect that I'm going to believe you without seeing that Toge is indeed fine!"

"The red butterflies took that friend of yours to an old shrine inside the cursed forest, the only way for you to confirm that he's fine is for you to come with me," Sukuna said, taking a few steps closer to the kid. "I don't need to consume the life of human children anymore. Plus, if I wanted to lure you into my trap, why would a hurt that brat?"

The child of the unseen took a few steps back. "Will you let him go if I come with you?"

Sukuna frowned by such a question. "I already told you that I don't need to consume the life of human children anymore. If you decided to sacrifice your life for him, then I will let him go. I have no interest in anyone besides you. But if for any reason you change your mind, I have other ways to catch you, for example that grandma of yours," he threatened.

Megumi clenched his fists by the mention of his grandmother.

"But that wouldn't be necessary for the moment, since there's no one who can protect you this time," the Red Butterfly brought one of his hands to his chin. "Having no one to protect you, I can catch you in just a blink of an eye. Once that happens, I'll make sure to kill that friend of yours that you care so much about in front of your eyes before consuming your life!"

Although, his face did not show it, his words dripped with malice. He knew that this will be enough to make a human like Megumi come with him.

In the position that he is in, the child of the unseen doesn't have any other options than to go with him to the cursed forest if he wants Toge to live. He is aware, too, that every word spoken by Sukuna were true, since he didn't show any signs of lying.

Plus, he had already made up his mind before arriving that he would save his friend no matter what. He just hopes that the White Butterfly is safe and can appear in time to save both of them.
