Having visiting the Human Realm out of curiosity for the past few months, Suguru witnessed the death of the third child of the Black Butterfly by the hands of Sukuna, who had consumed their life and soul. He had never met his half-siblings before, but the peculiar appearance they have-- mismatched eyes and skin white like snow--and their butterflies gave them away.
Since it was already too late when he encountered both of them, he returned immediately to the Butterfly's Realm to inform his father about such tragedy and to warn him that the Red Butterfly already looks more human. Perhaps the Black Butterfly would not really care about any of the two, but Suguru felt the need to tell him either way.
Toji, like almost every day, was busy fulfilling his task that conveys being the Black Butterfly. Yet he decided to spare some time to his son when he told him that there was something very important they needed to discuss, meeting with him outside their home. Although he already had an idea of what could it be.
"Father," Suguru called as soon as he saw the figure of a tall muscular man with long black hair, not saying anything else until he acknowledge his presence.
Toji was staring at the pond filled with a few lotus flowers and koi fishes that surrounds their traditional Japanese house, speaking at once. "Are you here perhaps to inform me about the things the Red Butterfly has been doing in the Human Realm?" He did not turn around to look at his son, his crimson eyes still fixed at the sight close to his feet.
"I'm sure this is not a surprise for you, but he had been consuming the life and soul of human children," Suguru began, getting to the point real quick. "One of those recent victims was one of the children of the unseen."
Toji frowned, but did not say anything. His son was right, it wasn't a surprise. He already knew what happened to them, since he can no longer feel the presence of any of the two children in the Human Realm.
"Guessing by the looks of the Red Butterfly, who already looks more human, it wasn't the first time he had devoured a child of the unseen," Suguru continued, his voice turning serious. "I believe if he consumes the life and soul of one our kin once more, he would regain his true form back. So before that happens, would it not be better to kill him once and for all?"
"The Red Butterfly can no longer eat another child of the unseen, since there's no such kid in the Human Realm anymore. Furthermore, he had been exiled from the Butterfly's Realm. Meaning that he is not allowed to enter this realm nor he can even if he tries," Toji stated, not worried at all. "As long as you don't visit the Human Realm anymore, Suguru, there's nothing to worry about."
This wasn't the answer the Blue Butterfly wanted to hear. "You don't care at all about what happened to the human children and the two child of the unseen?"
"What happens to human children is not of my concern," Toji responded with sincerity, wanting to make it clear that he doesn't care about the humans. "And about the two children of the unseen; it's a shame that they fell into the hands of that curse. There was only one reason for their existence, but they failed to accomplish it. That's why you should not concern yourself about their deaths nor anything that happened around them."
Suguru wasn't surprised by his father's answer, yet it rubbed him the wrong way. The human children suffering in the hands of Sukuna was kind of the fault of the Black Butterfly for exiling him from the Butterfly's Realm and for turning him into a curse, instead of killing him. So how could he not care at all? Furthermore, how could he not feel nothing towards his own children? Even if their existence only revolved around the task of guarding the unseen beast, how can he be so cold?
"It would not be wrong to say that what's happening to the human children right now is part of your fault, father!" The Blue Butterfly harshly declared, feeling only anger towards Toji.
