Worried about Riko, Suguru left the Gojos' residence the next day, bringing Satoru along with him. It would not be odd or even a surprise if Sukuna had chosen her as his victim as well, since his recent actions has been to put the Blue Butterfly on a tough spot.
The white-haired young man at first refused, but ended up coming at the last moment by how much Suguru insisted. There was two different reasons of why he did not want to accompany him, one being more important than the other.
His grandmother, Kaida, was aware of the existence of the Red Butterfly. In fact she was the first one that told Satoru about the mysterious curse that has been kidnapping children for hundreds of years to consume their lives and souls. So the day he was caught by this being, he told her that he had become his next prey and showed her the marks on his body.
Scared about what could happen, Kaida casted an invisible barrier to keep the curses away and forbidden to his grandson to leave the Gojos' residence. Satoru complied, having no option than to ask for her permission to leave for a few hours. Much to his dismay, she accepted after seeing the Blue Butterfly.
A scowl never left Satoru's face as they walked the path towards Riko's house, displeased about his grandmother's decision. "I thought for sure that old hag would have stopped me from taking a single step outside of the residence!" He snorted.
Compared from his friend, he never grew fond of Riko, nor could stand her outspoken and feisty actitud. This was the other reason of why he did not want to accompany him. But, of course, it wasn't a good reason to convince Suguru in changing his mind. Satoru means a lot to him that he can't leave him alone anymore after what happened.
The barrier Kaida casted is useless against the distortion of Sukuna, so leaving without him was out of the question. The fate of the young man wasn't going to change, however, at least it will calm his restless heart by having him on sight.
The Blue Butterfly like always was bothered by the way Satoru calls and treats the elderly. "Satoru, you should be respectful towards the elders. Kaida is your grandmother, so you should not refer to her like that," he advised, but it fell on deaf ears.
"I don't want to."
Suguru did not press further about that matter. He knew perfectly well that Satoru wasn't going to listen nor change no matter what, preferring to save the talk for important matters and focus on the task he must do after confirming that Riko is safe. But as they drew closer to her home, they were hit by the evil presence of the Red Butterfly. It was stronger and different from the one coming from the Gojos' residence, confirming this time that Sukuna had really passed through here and continued forward.
The more Suguru and Satoru continued to follow the path ahead of them, the chances of encountering that curse became higher and higher. Now it was clear that his intentions of arriving to this village was to continue on devouring souls, going specifically after Satoru and Riko.
'Did the Red Butterfly knew about my relationship between this two humans?' The Blue Butterfly asked himself, increasing his pace as fear crept into his mind and heart.
Riko had lost her parents when she still was a small child, being take care of by her caretaker. Being the only ones in the household, there was no way they could defend themselves against a strong curse like Sukuna. If his intentions are really to devour the Blue Butterfly's next, then Riko for sure had fallen to the same fate as Satoru or perhaps even a worst one.
He confirmed it once both of them reached their destination, Sukuna was leaving the house carrying a young girl with long dark hair dressed in a pink kimono. Her eyes were shut closed like she was asleep or unconscious, but there were not visible injuries on her body.
