The Blue Butterfly after hearing the thoughts of the kid, he thought that it's better to let him die, that way he would not suffer the curse of the red butterflies.

However, he could not possible let something like that to happen. His mission is to protect the Black Butterfly's child from Sukuna, it had always been, so he felt conflicted on what to do.

The Blue Butterfly needed to protect Megumi to stop Sukuna from regaining his true form, but if the kid dies at the hands of the curse, does that mean that his mission would be fulfilled?

Would that mean that he doesn't need to betray the White and Black Butterfly anymore from the promise he made to Sukuna a long time ago?

He did not want to betray them, but he's bounded by the chains of a wish he made to Sukuna. That's why he had put the kid under a spell, so he would go to the forest. It just took one glance with his red eyes to make Megumi fall under his charm and make him obey his orders. And just like he planned, he told him to go to the forest.

The forest was the place where the kid was supposed to meet his demise by the hands of Sukuna, but to the very bad luck of Sukuna, the kid was killed by a curse.

Today was supposed to be the day Sukuna would regain his true form, however, after the unexpected turns of events, the Blue Butterfly realized that Megumi's fate is not to die by the hands of the Red Butterfly.

That's why the Blue Butterfly decided to break the promise he made to Sukuna. Even when he can't betray him, he decides to fulfill the kid's wish of not dying after hearing him call out to him.

"Megumi, I will not let you die." Suguru stated as he holds the umbrella in his hands, the bells always ringing as he took a few steps closer to Megumi.

Megumi, who has already closed his eyes, was still being dragged away by the curse. This he only knew because he could feel the cold, wet grass beneath his body as the endless rain fell over him.

There wasn't much time left until death took him away, the pain fading was enough to confirm it for him. "Is this really the place where I'm going to die?"

Megumi truly did not want to die. He was far too young, and there was a lot of things he wanted to do by the side of his grandmother. That's why the only thing that crossed his mind was to pray for someone, perhaps the blue butterfly that turned into a human could save his poor life. Suguru was the only one who crossed his mind and the last one he saw before closing his eyes.

Megumi wasn't the type of person to pray, but he did not know what else to do to save himself from the hands of death. If this mysterious man could truly save him, then without hesitation he would call out to him. But what kind of words were necessary to say in order to be saved?

It's enough to just say: 'please, save me. I don't want to die just yet'?

Being enough or not, those were one of the words that he could think of, after almost all his mind and life was consumed by the darkness of the death.

And indeed the Blue Butterfly had heard such prayer, since in that moment Megumi heard Suguru saying his name: "Megumi, do you still wish to live?"

Megumi could hear the young man's voice, but he couldn't answer him back, so the only thing he could do was to continue to pray.

Suguru, knowing that Megumi couldn't speak anymore, continued to talk as he started to walk towards him: "Just say your wish and I will fulfill it."

When the last words left Suguru's lips, Megumi said his final words in his mind: "I want to live... I can't die now... I can't leave my grandma all by herself."
