"I hope you've realised that you've just wasted the precious time of these firefighters. Whoever pulled it, confess now or otherwise you'll be suspended."
Everybody is silent, and the principal glares at us for even more before sending us back to class. However, on the way there, Ms Gob pulls me aside - to the principal, Ms Smith, Alexis and a firefighter waiting for me.

"It has come to my attention that you may have pulled the fire alarm, and wreaked all of the havoc that took place at our school today." The principal sternly said, "Alexis alerted me that she saw you pull the fire alarm."
"I didn't pull the fire al-"
"Have you any idea what sort of issues you have caused?" The principal continued, ignoring me. "Multiple students were injured, and not to mention, you wasted emergency personnel's time and money. I'm disappointed in you."
"I didn't pull the alarm-"
"Because you didn't confess to it yourself, you will be suspended for three days."
Ms Gob holds out her hand, drawing attention to herself. "Maybe we should hear Jasmine's side of the story before we settle on punishments," she suggests. The principal expectantly looks at me.
"I didn't pull the alarm, I was in class the whole time."
"Then why did I have multiple students approach me, and tell me that you were the one who did it?" The principal frowned.
"If I may," Ms Smith says, cutting in. "The fire alarm was pulled during my science class, and Jasmine was there the whole time. I don't believe that she was the one who actually pulled it, I believe that Alexis is the one who did it."
Alexis gasps, "you have no evidence!"
Ms Gob rubs her hand against her chin. "It makes sense, if Jasmine was in class the whole time then how did you and your friends see her do it? It just doesn't make sense, unless you were the one who pulled it - and you're covering yourself up."
The principal thinks for a moment. "So Alexis was the one who pulled it, and got all of her friends to blame Jasmine for it?"
Ms Smith nods her head. "I don't think that it makes sense that multiple students, during class time, saw her pull the fire alarm. First off, I'd never let more than one student out during class unless it was urgent, and two - they were in class."
The firefighter clears his throat. "Listen, we don't really need to make a big deal out of this. We just want whoever pulled the fire alarm to know that they cannot do it again, because they wasted our time and resources. Not to mention, if it wasn't for whoever pulled it, multiple members in my crew wouldn't have been... Run over..."
"So it's agreed that Alexis and her friends are the true ones behind this?" The principal suggests. Ms Smith and Ms Gob nod their heads, while Alexis sighs in annoyance. "Alright Alexis, for your punishment... I'll give you two options, either get suspended from school for a week or you and your whole friend group have detention every night for a week. You can pick."
Alexis scoffs, "I didn't pull the alarm."
The principal rolls her eyes, "okay. I'll just ask your parents about it."
Alexis groans in defeat. "We'll have detention every night for a week then..." She trudges off back into the classroom, and the principal swiftly apologises for the misunderstanding. Ms Gob places her hand on my shoulder, as if to say that I'm okay - and Ms Smith presses her lips into a thin line. She walks off, presumably to teach her next class.
By the time lunch rolls around, I notice that the kitchen in the cafeteria is... Completely normal, the vegan cook and her devoted friend are normally working. I approach the counter, looking to see what they are doing. The vegan cook notices me, and walks up to me, as if she wants to service me.
"What the fuck do you want?" She sneers, "do you want meat?"
"I... You know what? I'll try being vegan."
Her eyes light up, and she starts squealing. I don't have the heart to tell her that I'm only being vegan for this meal, but she starts rummaging around the kitchen - and brings me this salad.
"It's really good!" She enthusiastically says, "you can call me Katheryne! I'm so glad that finally somebody has seen the light, and has decided to become vegan! Come on, Belle? Did you hear that?"
Her friend, in the back of the kitchen looks up and smiles. "Yes, that's great!" But she stares at me, and holds up a sign that says, 'I'm being forced against my will to be vegan.' I awkwardly smile, take my tray and walk to my lunch table.
Next door, Alexis and her friend group are having a heartened discussion on how she pawned off all of blame onto them. I presume they are talking about their detention, and to make matters worse, I've heard that their parents are furious. Not at just the school, but also at Alexis for dragging them into it.
"You couldn't have taken the blame for us?" Elena scowls, Alexis rolls her eyes.
"I'm not being suspended for one week," she reasons. "It's the price you have to pay for you know, actually helping me out in this?"
"You dragged us into this!" Lilliana accused,"you told us to do it! We didn't even know you were going to pull the fucking alarm! If you told us about the plan then we would've convinced you not to go through with it!"
"Do you have a brain?" Angel scorned, "I didn't even tell the principal that Jasmine pulled the alarm but I'm getting in trouble! This is all your fault!"
The fight rages on, but seemingly starts to calm down. Midway through lunch, it looks as if their fight is over and they've forgiven Alexis. But my fight isn't over, and I need to talk to her about why she had done what she did.
"Let's talk," I sternly say, pulling her aside. "Me and you, alone."
