"JUSTICE FOR OUR VEGAN FRIEND!"
Belle rams the trolley through the doors of the gym, and then it is followed by a very terrified Luke screaming his eyes out. We hear the trolley crash into many things, and the groans of it's victim. Ms Gob shrugs, deciding to turn a blind eye and retreats to go drink some punch.

"May I have this dance?"
Shawn reaches out his hand to mine, his eyes smiling. Claudia giggles, shoving me forward while Emily and Alice start swooning and making kissing noises. I feel complete and utterly awkward, letting my hand slide in with his.
"You look really nice tonight," he compliments. He grins, while I nervously laugh.
"Uh... Thanks, you look nice as well." I stuttered, that feeling of being unable to control my words suddenly back. "So... why did you want to talk to me?"
"I'm sure you heard about what happened between Alexis and I," Shawn nervously laughs. "I mean, you do now. Alexis yelled it out in front of everybody... And I just really wanted to talk to you, because I never really told you why I broke up with her... In fact, I broke up with her a couple of weeks ago."
"Really? But you came to me for advice to salvage your relationship..."
"I actually wanted to tell you something that I've been feeling for a while... But I chickened out, and instead made up some lame excuse - which Alice bullied me about for the longest time. The truth is, the reason why Alexis and I couldn't be saved is because I don't have feelings for her."
"Oh, well either way, I'm sorry that the two of you didn't work out."
"Don't be sorry," he gently said. "I don't like Alexis, because I've developed feelings for somebody else. Incredibly strong feelings, which make me question why I didn't realise it at the beginning."
My heart thumps, my veins coursing with adrenaline. Who was this girl he was talking about? Perhaps it was Alice, he and Alice are close friends. It had to be Alice, or maybe it was somebody else in Alexis' friend group who he spent more time with. It could be Angel, she turned out to be a nice person all along - buried underneath her fragile exterior.
"The person who I like is you." He finally confesses, and my jaw drops. Not literally onto the floor, but emotionally it has. My heart is doing backflips, screaming in glee that he liked me. Screeching that I liked him back.
"What?" Is all I manage to say, before he laughs again.
"I like you."
"B-but how? Y-you do realise that my dad is borderline insane, you saw a mugshot of him. Surely you don't want to date the girl with a crazy dad?"
"Why should I care? You aren't insane, you're the opposite. You're perfectly sane, and you aren't anything like your father. I've seen, you're flawless. Don't ever doubt that for a second."
"So you really like me? You truly like me?"
"Yes, I do. I like you, and I'll repeat it as many times as you want."
"Good," I smiled. "But how do I know that you aren't using me, just like Luke did?"
"I know..." Shawn sighed, "but I promise I'll never do that to you. Hell, I'll even sign a contract which your sister can write. Does that sound good? I know she's been getting better at being a lawyer, right?"
"Yeah, she has." I laughed, "I can barely recognize her. It's so surreal, I had no idea she could improve so quickly. It's quite unlike Claudia, but I'm sure she'll be glad to pull up a contract for us to sign."
"Good."
"But if we're going to be in a relationship, can we please take it slow?" I timidly asked, and he giggled - nodding his head. "Good, so what now?"
"We just live in the moment until they announce who won the vote," Shawn grins.
He pulls me closer, and I wrap my arms around him - resting my head on his shoulder as we slowly sway to the slow music. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Lorelei and Emily both dancing in the corner with each other, wildly flailing their arms. Aubrey and Alice are by the punch table, and Abigail and Jolene are both standing aloof from everybody.
"Hello everybody!" Tyler announces into the microphone, beaming. "I have the pleasure of announcing this year's prom king and queen. And before I continue on with my announcement, you did not win." The principal gasps, sulking back into her seat. "You weren't even an option, so I'm not quite sure why you're even surprised. Anyways, the nominees for prom king are... Actually, I can't be bothered reading all of this out."
"READ IT OUT!" The principal demands, "I NEED TO KNOW WHO WON SO I CAN BEAT THEM NEXT YEAR!"
"YOU AREN'T AN OPTION!" Tyler shrieks, the principal huffs and excuses herself to go cry alone in her office. "Anyways, the king is... Drumroll please, Shawn! But we don't have any crowns or tiaras, because the principal took them all to try on and she ended up breaking them all. Anyways, congratulations!"
Everybody claps for him, while he looks like he slowly wants to collapse in on himself from the embarrassment.
"I only even campaigned because Alexis forced me to," he whispers lowly underneath his breath.
"Now, for our queen... Again I'm sorry about there not being any crowns, we'll try to give you one as soon as the next shipment comes in... But without further ado, the winner is... Jasmine!"
"YES!" Katheryne shrieks, "MY VEGAN QUEEN!"
"Since when were you vegan?" Shawn asks in confusion while I shrug my shoulders.
"Since Katheryne started acting ballistic around students who ate animal products. I'm not completely vegan, I just eat vegan meals in public. You never know when Katheryne will sneak up behind you and start screeching her songs into your ear."
"Are you guys together?"
Abigail suddenly pops out of nowhere, scaring the life out of both Shawn and I. We both let out a yelp, before realising who it is - our nerves still not quite recovered.
"I swear I just saw you over in the corner with Jolene, how did you get here so quickly?"
"Isn't it obvious? I just apparated. Are you guys together?"
"Um... Yeah," Shawn replies uncomfortably.
"Are you guys going to kiss?"
"Well, not while you're here." I furrow my eyebrows at Abigail, who just grins and then starts to make her way towards the DJ - while doing the worm. "I have a feeling soon the song choice will be changing soon."
"Agreed."
"Should we kiss before that happens?"
"Yes."
We lean slowly into each other, our lips just connecting for a second - a peck. And even though it ended quickly, the lingering effects make us both dizzy.
"WHO'S READY FOR MY HARRY POTTER PLAYLIST?" Abigail screams into the microphone, while everyone on the floor just looks at her in horror.
"WHERE'S THE DJ?" Max screeched back.
"DOES IT REALLY MATTER? WHO WANTS TO LISTEN?"
Jolene hangs her head, quickly scurrying to where Abigail is to wrestle the microphone out of her hands.
"I'm very sorry about that," Jolene apologises. "Let's just all go back to listening to this playlist that this very nice DJ put together for us."
"By the way, you never said that you liked me back." Shawn softly says to me.
"Didn't we just kiss, or was that in my head?"
"We did, but I want to hear you say it."
"Fine," I playfully smiled. "I like you."
"Good."
