"Well, if you really are that tired, you should have a cup of coffee. Personally, my favourite is a cappuccino because-"

And I've officially stopped listening to what our coffee addicted, cosplaying maniac director/English teacher has to say.

"Do you like the poster with the pink, or the poster with the yellow?" Emily asks me - shoving two big sheets of paper in my face. I scowl, tempted to rip it - but don't, because I know she's worked extremely hard on it. "Well?" She impatiently says, "I want to get these posters up by the end of the day. Which one do you prefer?"

"I prefer no posters," I blankly admitted. "I've already told you that I don't want to run."

"But I've already told you that you've signed up already, and I don't really care." Emily replies. "So, pink or yellow? Or will I choose for you? Personally I think that the pink would-"

"Alexis' prom campaign posters are all pink," I said. "That's kind of her theme, so I think we should go with yellow."

Her face lights up. "You've finally accepted it?! You're letting us run your prom campaign?! You're finally accepting that you'd be an awesome prom queen!?"

"Well," I sighed in defeat, "it's not really like I can go back. I'm already in the running, and I don't have any good friends in the prom council to take my name out anyways - so I guess I'll just have to accept it."

"Yay!" Emily cheers, "I'll call over Lorelei and Alice. We can furthermore discuss your campaign, but do you mind if I invite Angel as well?"

"Why?" I asked, "I thought you'd be a little more-"

"Suspicious of her? Turns out she's really cool. But, she's also kind of like our spy-"

I hold out my hand, to stop Emily from saying anything further. I understand that she wanted me to win, and now that I had finally accepted this - I wanted to win as well. But, I will not use Angel as a spy, because if Alexis had somehow found out she'd rain hell on me.

"We are not using Angel as a spy," I ordered. "Imagine if Alexis found out about whatever she was doing, I have barely evaded getting in trouble by her multiple times. If she finds out about this, she will do something very bad, but I'm not very sure what."

Emily rolls her eyes. "Why do you have to be so responsible? Anyways, I'll call Lorelei and Alice. We can discuss the further plans of your campaign. I was thinking maybe we could hand out candy to make people like you. No offence, but other than the musical you aren't very popular."

I blink, agreeing. "Yeah, you aren't wrong. I'm definitely not as popular as Alexis."

My mind trails over to Alexis' instagram account, which has over a thousand while I have barely over a hundred.

Alice and Lorelei run up to us, excited at the news that I've finally accepted my fate. They first start by squealing like obsessed fangirls, shove me around a little triangle they've formed from pure happiness. I am thrown around like a barbie doll a five year old has decided to torment, and my life flashes through my eyes as I suddenly lose balance and topple over onto the floor.

"Ooh," they all exclaim.

"That's gotta hurt," Alice winces, holding out her hand.

I take it, and brush myself as I stand up again. "You all are a bit too enthusiastic about all of this."

"Yeah well, wouldn't you rather an extremely enthusiastic team of people ready to put their lives on the line for you - or would you rather-"

"I never said I was willing to put my life on the line," Emily interrupted Alice. "What? I'm just saying, it's kind of stupid to risk your life over prom. It's just one night of torture."

"One night of torture..?" I mumble, "then why'd you get me to-"

"Anyways, does having candy handed out at school sound good?"

I shrug, looking indifferent. "Well, it's not really like I can go against my campaign team, is it?"

"Good, because I've already ordered a jumbo order of candy to hand out," Alice beams. "And don't look at me like that, it wasn't even that expensive. Nothing is ever that expensive if it's to help a friend."

"How much was it..?"

"Like... $50..?"

"WHAT?!" I shriek, while Lorelei and Emily hang their heads down low.

"Wait, you said that it was a jumbo size. That means that you bought like a thousand-"

"Yes, yes I did," Alice confirmed. "But I mean, we could make cute little lolly bags. Right? It's not really like I won't be getting any profit - Alexis' defeat is good enough for me."

"How do your parents feel about that?" I ask, raising my eyebrow.

"Well they kind of don't know about it... Because I didn't use their money..."

"Wait, then who's money did you use?" Emily interrupts, in shock.

"I kind of used..."

"WHY DO I HAVE A BILL OF FIFTY DOLLARS CHARGED TO MY ACCOUNT FOR CANDY!?" Lilac screeched, showing her phone to Lilliana who's eyes widen in shock. Emily stifles a laugh, while Lorelei's mouth drops open.

I, however, start looking very suspiciously at Alice who awkwardly shuffles with her feet.

"It's not like she didn't deserve it, she never ended up getting in trouble for vandalising your locker. And the amount of money that it took to repaint it was probably a lot."

"She did get in trouble," I interrupted. "She got yelled at by Ms Gob."

"But I mean, vandalisation is a criminal offence. I'm just doing justice."

"Hey, she's got a point," Lorelei uneasily says. "But I still don't like the fact that you committed like... Another crime, I'm not really sure what it's called."

"Maybe ask Claudia?" Emily suggests.

"Wouldn't that be like fraud or something?" I interjected.

"Yeah, that sounds about right," Lorelei agreed.
