"SEE? YOU AREN'T THAT SMART!"
"SHUT UP!"
-- ------ --
Lorelei is fuming at Alice and Abigail for getting into a pointless fight. She's mad at me for participating, but at the same time she's also a little relieved that the cat's out of the bag. And by cat, I mean the fact that Emily and Lorelei are dating. To be honest, we all kind of knew that it was happening, but at the same time nobody really talked that much about it.
Lorelei has put Alice and Abigail on timeout, and as my punishment - put me on the task of getting rid of all of the wasted gas Abigail dumped on a tree stump. It was my duty to retrieve the wasted gas, so that they could cook. So far I was only able to regain only a third of what was lost, and Lorelei has already started on the portions.
With gloves, I scoop the gas out of the burrow in the tree stump back into a bucket. Lorelei calls me over for dinner, and tells me that after we should retreat back into the tents, as the thunderstorm was fast approaching.
However, Abigail does not get dinner as one of her punishments. She is sent to finish my job, and sulks as we all eat instant noodles for dinner. Jolene feels bad, and voluntarily goes over to help her out.
"Alright guys, let's go inside our tents now. I don't want anybody getting struck with lighting."
Aubrey, who is still visibly drained ear's perk up. "We'll be struck with lighting if we don't go in our tents?!"
"It was a joke," Lorelei pointed out. Just at this moment, a flash of lighting resonated in the air. Aubrey shrieks, and scurries off into her tent. Alice chases after her to calm her down, and we all retreat back inside. Well, it's not really considered inside, technically we're retreating into tents.
I am forced into sharing a tent with Emily and Lorelei, who can't help but be all smoochie. I feel awkward, and like a third-wheel, so I decide to join Alice and Aubrey instead - who are reading their manga collection, which consists of five hundred of them.
Thunder booms in the distance, and soon the rain pounds down on Earth. I retreat as deep as I can back into my sleeping back, and even try blocking out my ears - but the sound of rain falling cannot be erased from my ears.
"Hey, there's a shadow outside of the tent," Alice remarks, shining her light on it. It moves around, looking big and furry.
Aubrey pokes her hand at it. "It feels very furry, I'm not very sure if this is a bear, or if it is a wombat."
"Why the fuck would a wombat be here?" Alice asked, "I think it's probably like a bear or something."
"Shouldn't you both be a little more freaked out about this?" I pointed out, literally shivering in fear. I may die tonight.
"Eh, it's not like I want to live anyways."
"What the fuck?"
"I'm going to go investigate!" Aubrey declares, taking her small flashlight, unzipping the tent and running out into the pouring rain. Alice rolls her eyes, takes out her flashlight - drags me along with her and forcefully makes me wear a raincoat.
After putting on her own, we go out of the tent into the rain, looking for any signs of Aubrey. As it turned out, a huge grizzly bear had been brushing it's back against a tree, which Aubrey was climbing up. She was in fear, huddling safely on a branch, looking at the big creature.
It had brown, scruffy fur. Though short, it still managed to be extremely messy. It's eyes, almost unable to see in the dark, boared it's fangs into me, and Alice and I let out a painstakingly loud scream. The bear stands up on its hind legs, charging for us.
"CLIMB UP THE TREE!" Aubrey frantically ordered, "BEARS CAN'T CLIMB! CAN THEY?"
"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?" Alice screeched back, running around our camp while the bear chased her. I headed straight for the tree that Aubrey was on, climbing up the rough bark - with adrenaline pumping through my body. I didn't stop crying until I was on a branch higher than Aubrey, and watched in horror as the bear continued it's game of tag after Alice.
"WHY ARE YOU ALL YELLING?" Lorelei roared, stomping out of her tent. "IT IS STRICTLY TIME FOR LIGHTS OUT AND- AHHHHHH!"
Emily peeks her head out of the tent, and conveniently a twig flies in the wind to her face - knocking her out cold. Lorelei freaks out, and shoves her back into the tent, zipping it up. She calmly breathes, walking up to the grizzly, who showed its teeth as if it was going to eat her.
"LISTEN!" She barked, glaring at it. "I DON'T KNOW WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE BUT YOU DON'T GET TO HURT EMILY, OKAY?" The bear takes out it's claw, as if it was going to scratch Lorelei, but stops when Lorelei continues yelling in the poor creature's face. "DO NOT EVER TOUCH EMILY AGAIN, OKAY?"
"Hey, what about us?!" Alice screamed in protest. Alice was now cowardly hiding behind Lorelei.
"Yeah, whatever. JUST DON'T COME BACK!"
The bear sadly looks at Lorelei, and nods its head. It starts to crawl away, visibly shaken.
"Fluttershy who?"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP AUBREY!"
