Someone barged into my room, although I was expecting it to be Alejandro it was still surprising for me for a moment. I regained my composure and greeted him with a smile. As he barged in I was in the process of bandaging my “self-inflicted” wounds.
He shut the door and quickly rushed in to be by my side. “Are you alright?” he enquired.  There was genuine concern in his voice and he helped me complete the bandaging process.

His expression became serious and he asked me “ what happened please tell me in detail, my spy had warned me about some threat to your life but he had assured me he will take care of it, I should have been a little more careful”, he sighed.

“So he was your man? I had no idea you were spying on me.  You don’t trust me, do you?” I roared back.
He was taken aback by my reaction. “I had installed him to keep you safe; you see i have many enemies. You saved my life and that automatically qualifies you as their enemy and they would try to take you out as soon as possible, I know their ways. That’s why I got my best spy to keep an eye on you and notify me if any serious situation arises.”

He went silent after this; there was awkwardness in the air for a few minutes. I spoke to break the silence. “Okay, I trust your chivalrous intentions. I will tell you everything from the very beginning.
I went to the local diner for dinner. After dinner, I walked back home. I noticed someone following me, as I tried to increase my pace they followed me and showed me a gun and stealthily pushed me into a dark alley. I had to comply; thank god your spy miraculously appeared from somewhere. As they battled I was stunned and stood motionlessly at my spot. The other man took advantage of the darkness and somehow managed to pin your spy and proceeded to slash his throat using a knife. This brought me back to my senses; I fought with him and somehow stumbled upon the gun that fell from your spy’s body. I swiftly picked it up and pulled the trigger.” I was out of breathe by the time I finished, I asked Alejandro to get me some water.

I could sense a cloud of doubt hanging over him, but he chose to remain silent considering my traumatic experience. After giving me water he suggested “It’s not safe for you out here, you need to accompany me to my mansion. After some days of recovery I will personally make sure that you find accommodation in one of my safe houses.” he suggested

“Sir, it’s very late now we must sleep and travel to your mansion tomorrow”, I said with a smile.
He smiled back and said “yes, you are correct, let’s get some rest I will keep you company”.

I woke up as the first rays of the sun streamed inside, I checked the clock it was almost 7am. I saw a figure standing by the living room window staring outside. On seeing me Alejandro turned and smiled at me and wished me good morning.  “Freshen up quickly; in the meanwhile I will prepare a quick breakfast”, he said.

“No need for that we will eat at some café”. I said
“I insist”, Alejandro said convincingly and I had to concede defeat. I took a quick shower, the wounds hurt a little. I wore printed shorts and a warm sweater. I paired my outfit with a white canvas shoes and tied my hair in a bun
