I came back to my room really happy about my future prospects. My issues with Gabriella were also sorted out.
I was thinking about all these things when my phone beeped. I checked to find a text message from an unknown number. The message read as follows "Come to Mio Amore hotel by 8pm, I am taking you out on a date" and the message ended with a name, someone familiar and special.
It was none other than the love of my life, Ricardo. I couldn't believe my eyes that he was taking me out after so long. I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming and the chain of events were real and not my flights of fancy. Finally, things can improve between us, at least there was some hope.
I quickly dressed up, choosing a maroon off-shoulder dress and styled my hair to look the part, finishing my look with some light makeup and matching accessories.

As I was heading for the door, I met my dad on the way. He asked where I was headed and I had to lie that it was a night out with Gabriella. My dad smiled and said that I should be back home early and I promised him I will be back on time.
I called a cab and reached the hotel after a 40-minute drive. I enquired about the bookings in the name of Mr. Ricardo Martinez at the reception and the receptionist guided me there. On reaching the designated place I was shocked to find the entire area devoid of other customers, which surprised me.
After thinking for some time, I realised that such a famous hotel won't be vacant just like that, Ricardo had booked out the entire place just for me. I saw Ricardo seated at a distance and walked towards him. Seeing me he smiled, stood up and pulled the chair for me.
He looked really handsome in a blue three-piece tuxedo. I sat down and we slowly started ordering food and wine. After the meal everything is settled down and I am feeling a lot more confident and calmer thanks to the tasty food and wine.
I decided to ask the question that was on my mind, why did Ricardo call me out for dinner all of a sudden? Ricardo pauses for a few moments composing himself to answer my pertinent question.
"When I was in Mexico, Sandra and I had a discussion about the situation. She opened my eyes to the truth of the situation and that's how I am here with you on this amazing evening" Ricardo said. This piqued my curiosity and I enquired about what she had told him that made him change his mind.
He proceeded to tell me the words of wisdom Sandra had dropped on him. She had told him that all the problems arose from a simple misunderstanding and he must not dump me because of that. He also continued to add that in this situation it was neither my fault or Gabriella's fault. If he and Alejandro were stuck in a similar situation they would have acted in somewhat similar fashion.
He was really angry on me for betraying me but after my anger was satiated I realised that it was all meaningless and being angry on you won't make me happy.
