Rosa Martinez walked in slowly and asked Carlos to leave and fetch a doctor as soon as possible. “But why do we need a doctor for her, she is a traitor, she deserves to die!”

“Do as I say Carlos, trust me on this I know better” Rosa said sternly. He walked away, but before that he shot daggers at me through his eyes.

Now Rosa and I were alone in the room. She was really calm; her eyes had sorrow in them rather than rage. That completely broke me, it was worse than what I had experienced with Alejandro and Mirana.  I had put her son’s life at risk and here she was not mad at me, she even called a doctor to save my life.

After an extended silence she spoke up “I treated you like my own daughter and you do this to my family?, if you had any business grudges or rivalry attack my business why drag family into the business?”
I remained silent I did not have the courage to speak up, I broke down into tears
“Rosa the only reason I attacked your family was that you robbed me of my childhood, my family and my life when you killed my mother and brother, and now you have the audacity to ask me why I am doing this?”

“I never understood the reason behind the disdain and hate the Sanchez family had for us over the years, now that I have a member of the Sanchez family sitting in front of me it would be a great opportunity to learn and discuss about this topic. Also to make matters clear your brother and mother died in a car crash, we had nothing to do with it” she said

I laughed out loud and said sarcastically “ohh really? Are you innocent or trying to fool me I have a strong feeling it’s the latter”

“You are throwing these strong accusations in the air, do you have any solid evidence to back up your claims or are you here based upon some delusional theory your brain cooked up?, for your kind information we don’t target family for business gains, we don’t stoop to that level. Sinaloa cartel is ruthless, but we also have our moral code of conduct we are not monsters as per the image you must have printed in your mind, because you have been planning for a long time to strike back” she retorted.

After pausing for a few seconds I came up with a reply “it was not an accident, we found evidence on site along with the dead bodies of the attackers the guns were stylized to represent Sinaloa cartel and it was a clear giveaway. My father told me everything about it”

“Which type guns were they? She asked inquisitively.  “AK-47s and I don’t remember what else it was a long time ago”.

“That makes sense, during the same time period some of our classified specially modified assault rifles and guns were stolen and they were never recovered now that you put two and two together you can conclude that…”

“What I don’t follow?” I said confused
“Are you really a Sanchez, I though you would be so much more smarter”
She said sarcastically.

“Well someone else, a third person I don’t want to take any names is trying to use this event to drive a wedge between us for years, in fact its highly possible that accident was facilitated by them, the entire operation” Rosa said.

“You are just gas lighting me, that’s not the truth” I screamed at her
“Okay let’s accept that for a minute. Now you have to think from my perspective” She said

“okay I am all ears tell me.” I said.

“What was I going to gain from attacking your family and did I gain anything?, did it dismantle your empire?” she said

“When I think of it apart from causing me mental scars everything remained unchanged” I was surprised that I was saying something like that.
“Exactly, my point. We never had any personal rivalry against you so attacking your family is out of question and doesn’t really profit me.”
I remained silent as the truth dawned upon me.

“Come now, we need to get you stitched up lets go to your room a doctor will look at your wounds and do what’s needed, if required we will shift you to the hospital”.
She helped me get back to my room.

Inside Carlos and the doctor were already waiting for us. Rosa helped me lay down on the bed; Carlos glared at me throughout the time he was there. Rosa sensing the tension asked him to leave and she would be taking care of things going forward.

The doctors looked at my wound and gave me painkillers to help ease the pain and started stitching up my neck wound. I don’t remember what time it was but by the time he left it was almost evening.

Rosa sat beside me throughout the process and caressed my head and cared for me like I was her daughter, even after all I had put her through.

Her love reminded of my childhood days when I would get high fever and my mom would spend the entire day caring for me and won’t leave my bedside even during the nights when my temperature increased suddenly. She would wait and do the best she could unless my fever subsided.

I became very emotional thinking of those days and how much I had this angel of a lady.

She went outside for some time and decided to lay down, my mind was too exhausted and tired to rationally think of anything. I wanted to heal and rest myself before I could process my folly and the logical truth staring at me.
In no time Rosa returned with a tray that contained my dinner.  A light meal consisting of chicken broth soup and Russian salad.

I propped myself up to eat the food but she insisted that  she feed me, I had no choice but to oblige. As she gave me a few spoonfuls tears welled up my eyes and I started bawling full on, I couldn’t hold it in anymore,

“I have put you through hell and done so many bad things, yet you feed and care for me as if I am your own. I don’t deserve this love please kill me I beg you please kill me”

She shushed me and hugged me soothing my pain and whispering in my ear “its okay honey, we have all time in the world to discuss about this later on. Don’t stress yourself too much. Let me feed you and then take your medicine and get some rest.”

After the meal I ate my medicine and went to bed, Rosa even caressed my head and tucked me in like a little baby.

The next morning I woke feeling fresh and a little clear headed. I thought maybe the medicine was taking effect, the wounds did not hurt that much, I mean it was still a little difficult to move but it was better than yesterday.

I picked up my phone from the bedside table. I checked the time it was  it was 10am! I had overslept by almost 3 hours.
I sat on the bed for a few minutes before going downstairs because I was not sure how the situation is going to be and will I be able to face Sandra or Alejandro so soon.

I washed my face, brushed my teeth and wore a floral print blue romper and proceeded to go downstairs.

When I reached the dining area I see it packed with all the family memers which makes me a bit nervous, but one face s new in the pack

When I reached the dining area I see it packed with all the family memers which makes me a bit nervous, but one face s new in the pack. A man well dressed in  a  white suit and dark blue tie and when I finally realise who it was my jaw was agape.
