Gabriella left early today, she had a headache. Maybe the after effects of the trauma caused by Sandra’s kidnapping. I hope she is okay, she shouldn’t be back at work if she isn’t alright, but I just cannot seem to convince her, she is a determined worker and never slacks off.

I distracted myself from this internal dialogue by focusing on some trivial work stuff. Suddenly, I hear a knock on the door; I ask “who is it?”
It’s Carlos and I let him in. “Boss, something urgent came up. The Los Zetos Cartel has captured some of our drug operators in the High Mountains and they want to negotiate, we need to start for the mountains now, it’s going to be an arduous journey".

“Carlos, calm down no need to panic. I need to formulate a plan for the operation” after contemplating all the options and circumstances, my plan was ready. I explained the plan to Carlos and he arranged the necessary cash and a bag and we were good to go.

We took the land rover for the arduous road ahead; it took us nearly 6 hours to reach the area. Since it was already dark, Carlos suggested we stop at some decent motel for the night and start for their base tomorrow morning, since it will be safer in the daylight, they won’t have any undue advantage over us.
La reina de la noche (The night queen), apt name for the motel I will say.
We ordered 2 beers and some Colombian fast food for dinner and ate in silence. After dinner we went over the plan once more and decided to get some rest, unnecessary worrying won’t help.

Next morning we woke up early and quickly showered and ate a light breakfast, ready for the heist.
It was a 2 hour drive from our motel. Located in a deeper region of the forested mountain region, the trees were so tall and provided a canopy, which prevented the sunlight from entering the ground area properly.
They had the home-ground advantage, but our plan was superior and straight forward.

We parked the car some distance away from their safe-house. Carlos got the bag and I got the Beretta M9 mm semi-automatic hand gun ready, just in case.  The people inside would be equipped with assault rifles and this might seem like a suicide mission, but sometimes we gotta take big risks in life. I walked inside the the safe house.

The guard frisked me and asked me to hand over the gun “in that case you fucking hand me the AK-47 you smothering under your shoulder, darling” I said sarcastically.
He got furious and told me to obey or he will blow my head off in Spanish. “Easy there boy, let him in”, a deep voice came from the inside, the source of the voice revealed themselves, the following moment. Marco Silva, middle aged leader of Los Zetos, he was here in person. Fucking perfect! Makes my plan even more efficient, I really want it to work!

I walked in and shook his hand showed him the gun and said “can’t be too careful these days” and smirked.
“What have you got for me?” he asked.

“First my men” I said assertively.
“first what I want and no games okay?”  I directed Carlos to hand over the bag, after thorough checking my four operatives were set free. “Won’t you say good bye”, Marco said mockingly in a singsong manner.

I remained silent and ushered my men and Carlos in, before proceeding to take my phone out and tap, BOOM! The entire place burst into flames and all around you could hear the blood curling cry of the people who were inside. “Goodbye once and for all. This would be a great message for the underworld. No one messes with Sinaloa cartel, no fucking one!”

Carlos drove us out of the forested area and along the way I was thinking of my masterstroke. Carlos looked at me and smiled “that was genius boss!”, he said. The men in the backseat said
“Pensamos que no sobreviviríamos, eres como Dios para nosotros. Nunca podremos recompensarte por esto.( We thought we won't survive, you are like God for us. We can never repay you for this.)”
