Chapter 8

As they started to play cowboy round up, my brother stayed behind and watched them from the back. He remembered playing with me on the ice like that and how much he missed having his little sister, he looked around the ice looking for me until couch orion skated on the ice in front of one of the boys, after telling him to do laps he started talking to the kids about will had work and all that stuff.

"Where's Burton?" He questioned, "She went to the dorms." Dwayne replied, "Why?" Couch questioned. "She said no one told her what sport she would be playing." Dwayne said in a sofind voice. "Julie, you share a room, you go get her and be quick, for the rest of you count off, let's climb the ladder."

Julie took her gear off and headed to the dorms, she walked to your shared room she said "You're on the team Y/N and couches are mad so I'd recommend we get going." I stood up and took my hockey bag out of the closet, I threw it on my shoulder and we both ran down the halls and got ready.

I skated onto the rink with my jersey with my lucky number 77, No one noticed me or Julie came in and just continued practice scoring on the net. I scared the couch, "Sorry for the misunderstanding, I really thought they were putting me in baseball, it is my main sport." I said with a slight smile. "It's fine to get inline and practice with the rest." He said as I nodded and skated into the line.

Kenney skated up and did a little spin, Couch of course yelled at him then at goldberg. I waited at the end of the line for my turn. I was worried but I haven't played real hockey for over a year. I only tackle hockey with my brothers at the lake and that's a whole nother story.

Julie got on the net and we all started to try to score. After practise was over everyone was exhausted, we walked into talking a bit of shit as coach O'Brien talked in after us. Eden Hall academy needs you to maintain a C average to compete, I believe that's a bad rule, I don't want any C players on my team so its bs or better for you to be riding a pine pony, Now you have 15 minutes after each practice to clear this locker room you got homework to do, Oh and one more thing stay clear of the Varsity before we play them in the JV Varsity showdown, you got that?"

"Hey guys look he posted our positions connie said as she and a few others walked over to the bored, I staid sitting and just thought if hockey was the best choice like i love hockey and all but i haven't played a real game since my brother died the other moved to another country and the other went to the army, we used to play it for hours everyday on the pound now were all separated and i don't know how to act.

Dwayne walked up after everyone had sat back down and Goldberg was arguing about being second, "Whos captain tbd?" He questioned looking at the sheet of paper, "It's Captain T.B.D to be determined, got it?"Guy said as he walked up behind him, ''Ah yeah oh no i don't that's your job charlie." He said and the room went quiet. I still hadn't introduced myself to any of the kids which wasn't the best idea.  

The rest of the night was awkward, and quiet everyone in the dorm was tired and annoyed with the new playcements and everyone had homework to do so there wasn't really time to do anything. I had never checked my spot and I wasn't going to tell them but I was thinking of asking the Headmaster to switch me to baseball. Not because of the couch or the kids but mostly my brother being on the team that I will be playing against and that could get ugly fast and I didn't want to play hockey without Nathain.

The next day was mostly like the day before with teachers with weird teaching methods and too much homework but lunch was a whole nother story. I walked into the cafeteria crowded with students. I completely ignored everyone and just looked at the ground as I walked to get my food. I stood in line watching one of the kids we went to the pool with.

I saw another kid with a bandana on his head and Russ looking over at something, I followed their eyes and saw one of the sloppy teenage boys from earlier that day picking on Kenny. My eyebrows frowned when I saw my older brother sitting beside him watching and not doing anything.

I hated how the brother I once looked up to had changed so much since we were separated. I shook my head at the scene before me and looked back to where the three boys once stood. I looked around the room looking for the boys and couldn't see them anywhere. Then my eyes landed on Luis who was guessing flirting with a varsity cheerleader who seemed a bit confused and underwhelmed. Then she waved across the room and he climbed under the table. I shook my head and just pretended I didn't see anything, because honestly I did not care.

After getting my food I sat down at the table beside Averman, I looked around still not seeing the three boys from before. I looked across from me and Averman to see one of the boys from the pool talking to Julie as he placed a giant tray full of food in front of her as Averman tried not to laugh as he watched. "What are you laughing at?" I questioned in a hushed voice. "Just goldberg he's trying to make Julie eat so she gets fat so he can be goalie again." He whispered back. I started the laugh as I tried to spot myself.

Then only a few minutes into eating my food the three boys walked into the cafeteria, but this time with each with a paper bag.

They started to walk over to our table but the older boys took the bag.I couldn't hear what they were saying but I could tell something was happening when the boy who took the bag pulled out a handful of horse turds. He smelt it and said in a voice loud enough I could hear "What the hell kind of brownies are these?" "I gotta tell her to stop using the horse turds in the recipe." the tall boy said as the three of them ran out of the room.

The older boy chased after them and throw the bog over to the cheer table, one of the girls tipped the bag over and they all started to run everyone fled from the room and i just stayed sitting and finished eating i looked over and saw noah at his table still eating his food, we both made eye contact and both rolled our eyes at each other in annoyance.

I posted 5 chapters today because i won't be posting for a week or two because im going camping i'll try to work on it but no promises and i will try to post again sometime this weekend.
