Chapter 20

Dwayne's POV:

I woke up on Sunday, I was planning on asking Y/N if she wanted to go to the arcade with me. I quickly got ready and headed to the kitchen. I walked over towards Julies and Y/N's room, I hesitated before knocking on the door. "Coming!" I heard Y/N say before the door swung open and Y/N appeared.

"Howdy!" "Dwayne! good morning." She replied with a tired smile, "Tired?" I said with a smile as I looked over to her. "Yeah just a bit." She replied with a chuckle, "Um.. Do you maybe want to go to the arcade with me today?" I said as I rubbed the back of my neck with my hand. "Yeah I would love to." She responded as a bright smile grew on her face. "Maybe we can go around 3?" "Yeah!"

Y/N'S POV:

A few hours went by and I had been watching cartoons with Luis on the couch. I checked my watch and realized I had to get ready so I headed for the bathroom and had a shower before getting dressed. By the time I was done getting ready it was a few minutes until 3 so I headed for the door. I quickly slipped on my shoes as Dwayne walked towards me.

He opened the door as he said, "Ready Missy." I felt butterflies fill my stomach as the words escaped his mouth. I walked down the stairs as I talked to Dwayne.

Dwayne's POV:

We walked down the street, Y/N had a giant smile on her face. All I could think about was how much I wanted to hold her hand, I didn't want to push. "What kind of music do you like?" I questioned stopping myself. "Country." She replied looking up at me with a smile, "I didn't see you as someone who listened to country?" I said looking back down at her.

"Yeah, well I grew up with it and it makes me feel safe, you know?" "Yeah." I replied with a smile. "Oh look there it is!" She said running ahead, I chased after her as she stopped a few feet before the door. I smiled as I stopped beside her and walked the few steps before opening the door and letting her in. "Thank you Cowboy!" She said with a sweet smile as my stomach started spinning. "You're welcome." I replied with a smile.

We Played games for a few hours before we both got hungry. We headed for the door and started walking back. I felt myself getting nervous as I tried to muster up the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend, again I didn't want to push she seemed like she was going through a lot, especially with her brother.

"Y/N?" I said after finally getting out of my head, I never got like this but I really like this girl. "Yeah?" She replied with a smile as I took off my hand and came to a stop beside her, "Um... do you maybe want to be my girlfriend...? If you'll take me..." I quickly spat out so I couldn't second guess myself. I watched as a giant smile grew on her face, "Yes! I thought you'd never ask!" She said taking my hat from my hands and placing it on her head.

I smiled down at her and pulled her into a kiss, I felt my heart racing in my chest as we both pulled away from the kiss. "Here you go Cowboy!" Y/N said as she placed my hat back on my head, we started walking and I felt her hand fit into mine like a puzzle piece. I felt comfortable with her, I just wish she was on the team for the goodwill games. I also wish she wasn't going through everything but at least now I can be there for her.

Next thing I knew we were walking up the stairs of the dorms Y/N's small hands intertwined with mine. We walked up to the door and I let go of her hand, I opened the door and let her in before we both went straight for the kitchen. We had missed dinner so we both had whatever leftovers were still in there.

After we ate our food, we were about to go our separate ways for the night when Y/N kissed me on the cheek and headed for her and Julie's room. As soon as the door closed behind her I went straight to the couch and turned on the Stars vs Oilers game. During the halftime show I walked past Y/N and Julie's room and heard them both talking as the radio was on the same hockey game.

Y/N'S POV:

After I closed my door I walked over to Julie's bed where she was reading a book, I couldn't wait to tell her. I told her about the arcade but didn't say a thing about the kiss. I liked keeping that just for me. After a few minutes I realized the Oilers game was about to start to I put it on and listened as I talked to Julie.
