"I literally have no idea what you're talking about. Is this almost over? This is excruciatingly boring."
"So, you're saying, you weren't holding a barrel."
Soon after the blood incident, the cops show up to interrogate us as an ambulance takes Sam and the two other boys to the hospital.
"That's exactly what I'm saying."
The cop looks at me and releases an aggravated sigh. "Do you know what happened, at all?" He asks me.
"Nope. Don't you guys have better things to do? Like, eating donuts or something?"
"Alright. Well, I think that'll be all."
I flash him a smile. "Great. This went well," I say as I start walking away. "It was nice meeting you!" I yell at him.
He doesn't respond.

"Bob, easy with that blood. It's our last can!" The TV guy says.
This is so boring.
I have no clue why I agreed to this.
I turn to look at Simon just to see him watching the screen, intently, biting his painted nails.
I smack his hands away from his mouth.
"What was that for-"
"Stop doing that," I tell him.
He looks at me like I'm crazy. "No," he says as he continues to bite his nails.
"Okay, we'll make this a game. Every time you bite your nails, I get to smack you," I say, and right before my hand collides with his arm. He catches my wrist.
"Don't," he warns. I don't listen as I bring my opposite arm up to hit him, just for it to get caught by his other hand.
I struggle to get out of his grip but fail terribly.
I stop struggling and lean into him. His eyebrows furrow. "What are you doing?"
He lets go of my hands as I get closer to his face. I immediately pull back and smack his arm.
He gives me a blank stare. "You suck."
I grin at him. "That's what she said-"
"What happened to sorting this?" Kate asks as she comes in the room.
Kate, Simon and I are currently at a house, babysitting these two identical twins. Well, Kate is babysitting. Simon and I have been sitting on a couch for an hour, doing nothing.
"Lights and darks, and watch for stray socks," Kate says, as she dumps dirty clothes onto the table in front of us. "Remind us, what's in for us again?" Simon asks.
"Nope."
Simon jumps off the couch and unzips his jacket, revealing his bloody shirt from yesterday.
"Si, what the hell?" I say.
"You're still wearing the same clothes from last night? Did you wear that to the grocery store?" Kate asks.
"I had to work a double shift and this was all I had in the car. So, yes, yes I am," Simon says, almost proud.
I stare at him. "You're repulsive."
He turns around to look at me. "Okay, so you'd rather me..." He trails off, lifting his shirt over his head.
My cheeks heat up almost instantly and I try to look anywhere in the room where he's not standing.
Simon notices. "So, you're all cocky until I take my shirt off, huh?"
I scoff. "Don't act like you'd be all high and mighty if I stripped right now."
"Wanna test that theory?" He asks me. I move my eyes to connect with his, just to see him grinning.
Fine.
I stand up, suddenly, surprising him. I grab the hem of my shirt and lift it over my head, leaving me in a bralette and jean shorts.
Simon gulps and tries to keep his eyes connected with mine.
"I think I'm gonna put this back on," He coughs, reaching for his shirt.
Smash!
A window breaks. He drops his shirt and gives me a confused look. We head to the dining room to find Kate with the two girls. "Why don't you two have shirts on?"
"Make up your mind, woman!" Simon yells. kate rolls her eyes. "Whatever, just- girls, stay here." She gives them a sweet smile before her, Simon and I head out to the living room to see what broke the window.
Kate steps down the dark hallway first, me following, then Simon. Walking very slowly, we notice a figure moving. Simon lightly grabs my waist, sending goosebumps to my skin. "Maybe we should go back-"
"Shh!" Kate and I shush him at the same time. Walking farther down the hallway, we finally see the back of the figure. It's some person wearing a black hood and a skeleton mask.
"Hey, buddy," I start. "I think you've got the wrong house-"
A hand slaps over my mouth as I'm pushed to the wall. "Are you crazy?" Simon whispers. "It's just that Sunnyvale asshole," Kate says, pushing him off of me.
"We're gonna die, we're gonna die..." Simon mumbles as Kate and I look over the corner of the wall again.
He's gone.
Kate walks into the living room, Simon and I following behind her. "So, he's just gone?" I ask, looking around.
"Apparently," Kate mumbles. "We've gotta get to Deena. Let's go drop these girls off at Mrs. Lane's house."
"I wish I could stay at Mrs. Lane's house..." I mumble.
Kate sends me a death glare.
"What? Her husband makes really good cookies."
